  1. A long read, but really enlightening as to Russia's tendencies
  2. Also, regarding the position she advocates, it's not going to happen and she knows it. But I gotta say, as someone whose politics runs in the opposite direction of the state that one lives in, it's pretty annoying when people advocate secession. i would even say the same thing for Republicans who live in states like Illinois or California, people are often born into a place and can't just easily drop everything and move just because of politics. Or they move to a place because they got a job and politics didn't cross their mind when they did that... They shouldn't be forced to accept a "divorce" and the end of their country because of some crazy partisan jackwagons and their inability to tolerate people with differing viewpoints. Anyone who advocates such a position is someone who has an unhealthy relationship with politics, to put it midly.
  3. I agree, she's not just a social media influencer, she's an actual member of Congress. One who sits on the House Homeland Security Committee, FFS. And she's basically advocating an Unconstitutional and, frankly, anti-American position in her capacity as such. In terms of social media backlash, I sort of get what Rob is saying, she's trying to draw attention/outrage because it's her brand and she won't care what anyone on MTS thinks. But because of her capacity in Congress, members of the media are fully within their right and they should be asking questions of Kevin McCarthy daily why someone in her position is allowed to serve on committees or even be in Congress while advocating such a position.
  4. And a national divorce... Does that mean we can call her a Confederate now?
  5. Colt Keith arrives today... I predict he will be in the best shape of his life lol
  6. He's definitely playing out the contract. But if other guys are performing at a higher level than he is, I don't see 400 plate appearances happening
  7. Even some of the other teams out there in the Tigers class tend to generate more excitement out of the national guys. I doubt the Royals are much better than the Tigers, in fact both PECOTA and ZiPs put them a little behind the Tigers in terms of 2023 projections. But the Royals have Vinnie Pasquantino who, great as he is, tends to be a figure of hype for the Petriello's of the world. On top of Bobby Witt and others.
  8. The answer should be "yes"... 2022 has made everyone cynical as all get out, but in terms of outfield, there is a world where Riley/Meadows are putting up really good numbers and Vierling/Baddoo/Carpenter are playing well enough where they should be in the lineup most days. Not saying that world happens, certainly injuries will play a factor as well, but if it does, I don't know how easy it is to give Miggy regular ABs...
  9. Clearly... Whats the over under on appearances for Miggy this year... 60?
  10. I'm watching Georgia Republicans in particular... thus far, outside of Brad Raffensperger, there hasn't been a ton of comments that I've seen. And Raffensperger is kinda the one you'd expect to comment given he's decidedly in the "sane" wing. In general, one expects more magnanimity than not.
  11. Incredible...
  12. Finished episode three last night... started like a palette cleanser... boy was that wrong lol
  13. Which reminds me, as a periodic update, still crickets from self described media ombudsmen Glenn Greenwald, Matt Taibbi and Stephen "Red Steeze" Miller.... The fact that two of the three are regular contributors to Fox is probably just coincidental lol
  14. I do think his hair is legitimately in the best shape of his life.... lol
  15. Particularly true given the Tigers situation, given how much turnover they have had over the past six months. Law's read on where they are at, just as Kiley McDaniel's or BA's or whoever, is a lagging indicator, and its stands to reason that there is maybe less value in these takes or rankings in the Tigers situation given that it is more of a reflection of the last regime than the current one. The average fan doesn't follow closely enough to see that, they just see that the situation as it exists today isn't good, so all the "getting bent out of shape" isn't hugely surprising. But as buddha said above, they have new blood, which should at least engender more hope in terms of where they go from here versus if Avila and his cronies were still here.
  16. On a similar note, the Tigers used to have an affiliate in Angola, IN that I assume would have picked up the Williams County portion of NW Ohio and that appears to no longer be the case per the Tigers website.
  17. His Mom moved back to Mexico for periods of time for work and he stayed here. His Dad had passed away. The reasons made sense to me
  18. We'll see one way or another soon enough
  19. The Google Map screenshot on WMTR's website shows their reach as far as Port Clinton in the east... Realistically, 3800 Watts with an antenna in Wauseon probably gets them a little past Swanton lol
  20. What a path he has taken...
  21. A combination of that and the fact that they didn't manage to somehow claim Carlos Correa on waivers
  22. To be slightly serious for just a moment, it does seem early on that Spencer Turnbull is getting an outsized amount of hype from both the writers and the team (in form of Harris/AJ comments, social media). He's kind of the forgotten man, but he has always seemed capable of coming back from TJ and being successful. We shall see.
