  1. Candy gets a knock!
  2. Another zero in the scorebook for the bullpen... Can we please pick these guys up?
  3. They are incredibly frustrating to watch as well...
  4. Can't ask for much more out of the bullpen... would be nice to see the offense not hang them out to dry again lol
  5. At what point does AJ have to do something about Candy and Schoop in succession?
  6. It would suck for Garneau to lose his job when the roster cuts come if Barnhart is still this bad at the plate. That's all I gotta say
  7. This is right
  8. I like that he gets a lot of swing and miss...
  9. It feels like a loss, how that ended, but the approaches do give me some hope that this won't be April 2021 2.0 offensively
  10. 68 pitches in less than two innings. Thats f**ked up
  11. It'd be nice to see it actually rewarded!
  12. Wow... fantastic AB for Castro
  13. No kidding... that second to last pitch from Vest was a full ball width inside the zone lol
  14. Good God, what a clusterf...
  15. Hope the bullpen enjoy their two days off...
  16. Of the four guys they have on rotation in that color analyst role, C-Mo is probably the best of the bunch (he's improved a lot over the past year IMO), but it sounds like he'll be doing a lot of road work with DD this season. If Bally were interested in the quality of the product, maybe they'd go out and kick the tires on a few former Tigers with some color experience like Sean Casey or Austin Jackson and see if they'd be interested in doing color, but aside from that, we're probably stuck with with Jack....
  17. Not out of the woods yet, but Macron has seen his numbers rise anywhere from 3-5% in the polls since the First Round concluded.
  18. Definitely good news on both counts.... and in terms of managing expectations, I don't know that the club would be issuing statements like this if they didn't feel like things are trending in the right direction with either one of them.
  19. Correct, you basically risk him declaring free agency, which he'd have a good case to do.
  20. Barnhart will, in all likelihood, regress to his averages going forward... which would make him the best player at the position on the roster, as expected coming into the season. But tho it's a small sample size, the situation that AJ finds himself in with this three catcher situation makes me wonder how necessary that trade was in the grand scheme of things. I don't really mind what they gave up in the trade (ie. Quintana), but for a guy that was talked up a lot in the offseason and someone for whom extension rumors have swirled, Barnhart has been underwhelming (so far) As the situation sets right now, the likelihood is that the Tigers will have to hope Garneau can sneak through waivers soon.... in terms of the depth at the position, at least until Dingler is more established and Rogers shows signs of coming back, he would be tough to lose.
  21. In terms of off-day conversation, prompted by discussion on the Turning the Corner Pod on this subject, but as much as Dustin Garneau has proven himself worthy of being on a major league roster, carrying three catchers really puts this team in a bind depth-wise, particularly in terms of infield depth. The roster already is hamstrung a bit by having to carry Miggy as an everyday DH with the ability to play 1B, it just adds another hinderance there. And while it's early and he was acquired more for his defense than offense, I'm left questioning whether Barnhart was as necessary an addition as was made out to be going into the offseason. I do believe he's better behind the plate than the other two though in terms of defense and game calling ability though. IDK
  22. Why don't we wait for Mize and Manning to be ruled out by the team for the rest of the year before ruling them out the rest of the year? With Manning in particular, it's not even clear he's missing his next start let alone whether he's going to the IL. Just not gonna worry about things until I have some actual announcements from authorities on this.
  23. Yeah, exactly. The succession of injuries that has happened early on in this season is clearly having an effect on the psyche of the fanbase. Just prefer to not jump to conclusions until given reason to.
  24. The concerns with Mize are legitimate, but it's not even clear that Manning will even end up on the IL at this point. Injuries suck, but they are part of this game. Every single team has them. The Tigers are not unique. And not every injury that comes along will be catastrophic. At this point, I'm more concerned about the offense than I am the pitching holding up, even with concerns about Mize/Manning.
