It's all culture war, all the time with the Republican Party these days. They are largely vapid on actual domestic policy, and to the extent that they are, those folks are not ascendant in the party. Or are heading for the exits (ie. Fred Upton) I dont think the Democratic Party is perfect, and I dont necessarily agree with everything they do, but at least a lot of the debates during the past year and a half have been on substantive policy issues, such as BIF and BBB. Cannot say that with the GOP, where the past year and a half has been a noun, a verb and CRT.

At the moment, even setting aside whether his offensive production may or may not be flukey, I do think you have to look at Reyes in the lineup more just because of being relatively better at defense in center than the other options.

And I don't think the success pitching is as flukish as it was during April last year either.... even without Cisnero and Funkhouser, the stable of arms is better in the bullpen, for instance. Even on the back-end and fringier side of the pen, relying on guys like Will Vest or Jason Foley (who are young and have potential to be steady MLers in time) seems preferable to having guys like Derek Holland and Buck Farmer in those roles, which is where this team was not that long ago. But they need to start hitting more... the approaches have been getting better, but they need to start seeing some of their hits fall in and exhibiting more power.
