Has Manning ever even had as bad if a day as today? Maeda was given a 2 year contract by Harris. This should tell us what kind of a GM Harris is. But sure, forget Manning because he may not do as good as our worst starting pitcher. The bar is set very, very low.

I hear he's good starting in June....errr...after the All Star break. Fans just need patience....jeez...we just won yesterday. What fun would it be if we won every day? Pretty boring...

Agreed. There's no defending Harris if Maeda isn't sent to the bullpen. Bring up Manning to take his spot. Could Matt do any worse? Remember the good ole days when players had to make the team with their performance and weren't handed a spot because of their guaranteed contracts?

He won't sign with Detroit because Detroit won't pay him what others will. Getting something for him may be better than the draft pick. The Tigers really need to cut more payroll, Chris needs another 100 million $$.

His velo surprised me today. He was regularly hitting 98 on the radar gun. It looked (and sounded) legit, too. But, IMO, command is the key. A perfectly spotted 92 FB is better than an out of control 98. I like Mize and I think he could be an important piece of our rotation going forward. But, that's just my opinion. We'll see...

Mize hitting 98 MPH consistently. Color me impressed.

What bothers me is watching for 7 or 8 innings and then watching our BP blow it. Especially these west coast games. Deep into the night, into the early morning hours. Makes me not want to watch any more . NFL training camp starts in a few weeks. Just sayin'.... 😆

All I remember hearing was the Tigers pick was between Mize and Brady Singer. And Mize had enough pitches to be a ML SP and Singer didn't, at that point. It's hard to predict young baseball talent a few years into the future.

Agreed. It's hard to get a conviction from a he said/she said situation though. As least, from what I've heard. But this situation sounds like it may have some other witnesses. Give one immunity if he'll talk. Yeah, I watch too many cop shows...lol -
