  1. Holton was the best pickup Harris made.
  2. I don't know. Use Dingler as your starter and bring in an inexpensive backup. I could see that happening if Jake may win a salary hearing. IDK.
  3. Who saw the Tigers struggle to score runs after 15 runs last night? Uhhh...just about everyone.
  4. Sammons came outta nowhere. Kinda surprises me. Oops...a run.
  5. I don't know. Is Harris willing to take a chance on Mize winning an arbitration hearing? How about Jake? His offense is pretty poor. And with Dingler up here now, you just never know.
  6. But arbitration years are iffy. If guys don't produce or if they get hurt, Harris may not offer them qualifying offers. Candelario, Turnbull and Boyd are all examples. There may be more?
  7. Well, we got lucky with Perez producing for Carpenter. But the Riley Greene injury along with the Tork and Meadows ineffectivness weren't as easily replaced. They weren't injury losses but they still effected (affected?) our win total. And I really will repeat, IMO, we can't compete with our All Star left fielder missing 50+ games per season. If every position player were hurt that often, would fans expect enough depth to cover for them? And will Harris offer arbitration when he's eligible, with his injury history? He may just move on from him, trade him away?
  8. So we need an All Star outfielder to replace our All Star outfielder 50 or 60 games a season? Make it make sense...
  9. It's official...poor guy...
  10. Biden beat Trump by what? 7 million? 8 million? votes? And the Orange Cheeto still organized a coup. I don’t think there's any number of votes he can lose by that he'll accept. The only difference is he's not in office now so if he tries that crap now, arrest his sorry ass.
  11. See...I don't agree about players missing months per season because of injury as "normal." Carpenter has been out since May. Riley just made it thru 100 games for the 1st time. We can't have players, who we count on, missing this much time if we hope to compete. Yes, depth would be nice but how many quality players will sign with a team to sit on the bench in case of injury? And how many quality players is it possible to stash in the minors? I said before the season that Riley had to stay healthy for a few years to shake the injury prone label. He made it 100 games...
  12. Yeah, that's how my memory works too. Champ did PH a lot, always seemed to come up with a big hit.
  13. Depth is very hard. No player wants to sit on the bench or be in the minors waiting for an injury. And it's the amount and length of injuries that are concerning. Riley's one goal this season was to stay healthy. He failed.
  14. The main players have to stay healthy. If not, no matter how well they play, it may be time to move on. We can't have guys missing 2 or 3 months every season.
  15. The WSox are 62 games under .500. They've been outscored by 241 runs. Holy cow!! Their rebuild is going slow...lol
  16. They both played 1st base at times but I always remember Champ as a rightfielder. Hazy 40+ year memories though.
  17. Any pitcher that doesn't throw him sweeping breaking balls is making a mistake.
  18. Watch...Hinch will sit Urshela, Rogers and Carpenter tomorrow. Guarantee it.
  19. Did you hear what Gibby said in the 5th inning when Javy was up? He said Javy has been swinging the bat better THIS YEAR! WTH games has Gibby been watching?
  20. If I told you we would score 15 runs total in a 3 game series, how many wins would we get? One? We all know there are some shutouts coming now...
  21. I'm behind, I just saw the top of the 2nd. Leadoff double? No problem, k, k, flyout. Skubal is amazing...
  22. Yes, Cabrera struggles his last couple of seasons reminds me of old broken down Babe Ruth footage when he was on the Boston Braves. Just a shell of his former greatness. Cabrera is a sure Hall of Famer and was given an excellent sendoff by the Tigers and by MLB. He'll be remembered more for his greatness than his struggles near the end. Javy? Not so much. If the Tigers can find a decent replacement, it will be good riddance to him. Eat the contract and move on.
  23. Didn't Gibbs miss a couple of games too?
  24. I agree but I don't think the Tigers will cut Javy until they find a replacement. You can't go into 2025 without the most important position player. If they go into next spring with puff pieces in the media about how much Baez is expected to improve....ugh.
  25. I think the fans only hope is finding a young player who's blocked at the ML level to trade for. Maybe he's already in our system, I don't know. But with Javy's contract, I don't see us signing an established player. Too expensive and we're more than 1 position away from contending.
