  1. The Tigers should have a lot of money this off-season. Chafin and Flaherty were both free agent signings and Canha had a team option picked up. (I think). And none of the players we received were/are huge payroll guys. Harris is building right...getting talent depth. And collecting shortstops...lol
  2. He got Vierling in the same trade as Nick Maton so that ended up being a good trade for Soto and Clemens. So yeah, the only other thing I could complain about was letting Candelario walk for nothing. But he was new then...
  3. I see several names...confused..
  4. But the Tigers do have the option of keeping him and either taking the comp pick or extending him. If a playoff team wants to increase their chances, they'll have to pony up...
  5. It just increases Flaherty's worth. We may end up very happy if/when he gets moved.
  6. How many pitches/innings on Holton stretched out for? 60 pitches...3 innings?
  7. Dark, dark clouds rolling in. Radar looks OK though...
  8. My son told me there's always ways to work around the salary cap. The subject came up because of Tyreek Hill of KC when they said they were up against the cap. KC has made some questionable decisions...but hey...they won 2 Super Bowls in a row. Can't argue with that success.
  9. I agree. We desperately need starting pitchers. Extending him for 2 years would be great but I don't see the player agreeing.
  10. Yeah, it's all ancient history that thankfully is over and done with. I'm not even sure how/why it came up. But with Flaherty being traded, I hope he gets the most from a deal. If we get to keep him, it wouldn't be the worst thing.
  11. Scroll past. That's what I usually do.
  12. That's the point, we dint know if there were other offers. But that really is old news, no reason to speculate about any of it. No trade clauses suck and hopefully, Harris won't ever give them out.
  13. It would be nice if you didn't act like you know details of something you know nothing about. Bottom line is Harris didn't deal ERod to a team that he had the ability to refuse. That's on Harris, not ERod. I don't know why your a Harris slappy but it comes down to who is in charge and where the buck stops. At the top, not on the player...
  14. Yeah, sure. It's all ERods fault. Harris knew about the no trade to LA but only worked out a deal with them, nobody else.
  15. Yeah, I never liked the spin the Tigers front office put on it. Blaming the player for something that is in writing in his contract never made sense to me. Harris has months to make changes to the contract in regards to a no trade clause. Waiting until the last minute and working out a deal with one of the teams on the no trade list never made sense. Have a backup plan in case it falls through. With that being said, there are 2 other points. One, Harris wasn't the one who gave that contract. And it was a lesson for Harris to learn from, hopefully. And yes, I know ERod was/is a knucklehead.
  16. I think this year yet.
  17. When players sense management has given up on them, they subconsciously go ahead and give up. The Lions 1st preseason game is next week. And Leyland's number retirement in coming soon, the last of the Tigers 2024 highlights.
  18. What's the word on Olson? It would be nice to have 2 major league starting pitchers.
  19. We're talking to some teams to trade away one of our 2 top pitchers. They want to improve their team. We're just looking to rebuild our team, going on 40 years. But yeah, get your tickets before they're all gone. 🤨🤨
  20. Well, that was fun. AAA players against the division leaders...
  21. Would it kill Cleveland to give Ramirez a day off?
