  1. If they even sign him. I just read an article that said he's going to be a Super 2 arbitration eligible player? How many outfielders can they carry? Greene, Meadows, Carpenter, Canha, Baddoo, and the other assorted players Hinch puts out there...Short, McKinstry, Ibanez, Nevin and Vierling. I don't really care for those utility players that the Tigers think can play anywhere.
  2. After thinking about it, I'm fine with the pickup. If it keeps Short, Nevin and Ibanez out of the OF, it will be good. It's just, the Tigers have way too many outfielders already. I really think we'll be moving on from Baddoo.
  3. My app was delayed but it finally worked! Great win, the Wings were dominating at times, controlling the play.
  4. Boston had a late meltdown. Multiple penalties made it drama free.
  5. Larkin ties it at 3...13:10 left in the 3rd.
  6. This says he'll be ready for opening day. He HAS to stay healthy next season. https://www.si.com/fannation/mlb/fastball/injuries/detroit-tigers-young-outfielder-riley-greene-undergoes-tommy-john-surgery-but-is-expected-to-be-able-to-return-from-injury-for-2024
  7. Well said. And there were too many innings given to Zach Short, Ibanez and Nevin in the OF. No more of them out there, hopefully.
  8. Wings tie it at 2. Early 2nd period.
  9. Now a free-for-all. Pretty exciting 1st period!
  10. Wings (Raymond) score with 3:40 left, 1st period. 2-1 Bruins.
  11. Bally app is working. Wings? Not so much... 2-0 Bruins, late 1st.
  12. Very true. I didn't care for Ibanez over there. Or anyone but Tork.
  13. Good question. Weren't the Tigers grooming him at 2nd base in the minors? We need a good hitting 2nd baseman with good defense. Ibanez looked good there at times last season.
  14. Needs....outfield? Really? Look how many we already had...Baddoo, Greene, Meadows, Vierling and Carpenter. We even used Zach Short and Ibanez out there, though those guys aren't ideal. We needed a RH bat out there but at who's expense? Trade Baddoo? May as well, we have Greene for LF. If he can stay healthy for 150 games or so. But come on man, you gotta agree Canha doesn't bring much to the table. 35 years old, limited power, batting average, speed or defense. Not much upside to him, other than getting hit by the pitch. Like I've said a few times, a nothing burger move. A giant....meh.
  15. Wasn't he the primary choice at 3rd base last year after Maton flamed out? Right now, I think he's our best bet at 3rd base. But I was impressed with his defense in RF. I would much rather see him as a RH platoon split in LF with Baddoo than any other player on our roster. But like I said, it doesn't really matter what the fans want.
  16. A quality RH OF bat with decent defense? Yes. Or put Vierling in the OF in a platoon split with Baddoo. Then we would need a good defense/bat at 3rd base. But this guy we got today? Meaningless. Treading water. Not inspiring. I hear he's good at getting beaned, that should be fun. 🤣
  17. I guess you don't remember last year at this time. Fans were really mad at Harris for letting Candy walk. The arguments supporting Harris were, it's early, give him time. Yeah, we ended up with Nick Maton. Or...Harris is new here, give him time. So we get a utility RH bat for the OF. Big woop...a meaningless move. We need SP depth, a 2nd baseman, a 3rd baseman and a decent backup catcher. It's early but as Yogi once said, it's getting late quick! Lol
  18. Lmao... His biggest upside is getting HBP? Oh my, tune in! Get your tickets! Watch Canha get plonked! This makes my day, finally a Tiger with REAL promise. 🤣🤣
  19. Made me laugh, good job. A weak hitting, old, slow NL player isn't a big deal, it's why we only had to give nothing up for him. The only thing this trade did was create some Tigers chatter.....too many posts about a utility OF who prolly won't make much difference in 2024.
  20. I'm talking about Carpenter. And I'm not real impressed with Greene. All the talent in the world is meaningless if a player can't stay healthy.
  21. Do you even remember last off-season? When fans were upset when the Tigers let Candelario walk? The response was....we have months to replace him, be patient. Or...Harris is new to the job, give him a chance. Well, many fans don't like seeing a 35 year old player with zero upside being acquired. Me? I could care less, I don't see him taking a roster spot from anyone who has any real talents. Like I said, IMO, this move is a nothing burger....a meh move.
  22. No they don't. And his defense improved very quickly. Don't forget how young he is. The guy us going to be a very good player for the next 10 years, at least.
  23. The same way moving Candy last off-season created anger. What I kept hearing was we had months to find his replacement. And then we had Nick Maton to watch for the first part of the season. Don't blame Tiger fans for seeing the negatives in every move Harris makes. Kinda...gunshy?
  24. He's also 35 years old, has little power, speed or defense. Not much upside. But, he's a RH bat. And I guess AJ loves to platoon players, he can hit against LH pitchers instead of Baddoo. If he can make the team.
  25. Young players often get worn down by a long season. It's more than they've played in their career. But moving him would put a huge hole in our lineup. I really don't want to see a 35 year old, weak hitting player with no power, speed or defense taking his spot. This move by the Tigers is quite puzzling. Yes, we need a RH bat but not in a player that really doesn't have any upside.
