MLB average is .239, so we’re not the only team with lousy hitters. However, it will be tough to upgrade multiple positions soon. Greene is pretty good, Carpenter and Vierling are OK. Canha is 35 and will be a free agent. Have to hope that Keith’s struggles are rookie-related, but his contract will give him a long leash. Maybe Malloy and Jung can contribute this year or next. Not sure how we’re going to fix all of our problems any time soon.
It's almost like they have to make some off-season trades. Who would have ever guessed that? The leash for Harris is getting shorter and shorter.

Jung and Keith have potential to fill second and third. They just aren't ready yet.
Another "evaluation" season in 2025? This is getting old...

I didn't even wait that long. 1 1/2 Craig slurps and click...

I dont know about tearing down but maybe we should trade some pitching for a little hitting
We need a 3rd baseman, a shortstop, a 2nd baseman, a 1st baseman and a power hitting outfielder. There's not enough available players to get all of them. Scott Harris hasn't been very impressive. We want Al Avila back!! 😅😅

Fourth place talent.
Get swept in Cleveland and season over. Time for a tear down and rebuild. These kids can't play.

Remember that time a Tiger pitcher was so scared he puked on the mound? Good times....😁

are you sure they have to complete this inning for the yankee runs to count? I wouldn't think so it being the bottom half.
I think so but others know the rules better than I do

Walking a leadoff hitter is the kiss of death against normal hitting teams.

Miller is one guy who can be done here.
Who do you want in the BP instead?

Joe Mauer as well, but he could regularly hit 300 regardless
Yeah, it WAS him. Good memory. A hitter has to be a good 2 strike hitter to always take that first pitch.

If they call the game right now, the Tigers lose 2-0.

I often get the impression that the Tigers simple don't give the other team enough credit for being able to respond what they are obviously trying to do.
There used to be a hitter (Edgar Martinez??) who was famous for never, ever, swinging at the first pitch.

have to give Monroe credit - he is right. Team has to start looking FB. Javy took middle-middle at 94 for strike one. The book is out on the Tigers that as a pitcher you can get away with that.
Working the count is obviously not working.

Get the full inning in and Skubal would be off the hook.

Time for a Tork bomb. Pretty please?

Funny you mention this. Just accepted a marketing role with a company named Cyberdyne Systems. They are doing some interesting stuff.
Gulp...Skynet, inc.?

Skubal not really fooling anyone today.
Looking at the weather, I may not have started him.

Whelp, that called strike one that was easily an outside ball on Vierling already got me pining for #robotumps only two hitters in
Careful what you wish for. An uncalibrated robot ump could actually be worse. At least we can complain about human error now. When the machines take over and make us all slaves, we're screwed. 😆

The Book:
"Your three best hitters should bat somewhere in the #1, #2, and #4 slots. Your fourth- and fifth-best hitters should occupy the #3 and #5 slots. The #1 and #2 slots will have players with more walks than those in the #4 and #5 slots. From slot #6 through #9, put the players in descending order of quality."
Brad Ausmus wrote a book? God save us....🤣🤣🤣

It’s getting to that point. Obviously Meadows and Urshela factor into the team transactions as well. And I wonder if Jose Abreu’s recent demotion might restrict any push back Torkelson might have on a demotion. Maybe he wouldn’t push back to begin with, I don’t know.
I read Abreu welcomed it and wanted it. That may be all BS though...I mean, what's he supposed to say?

I don't think anything should be based on hot streaks because they can end at any time. Line-ups should be based oln what the manager thinks hitters will do long-term
Is this a joke? Vierling, Perez or Canha would all be better leading off than Greene. Miguel Cabrera was the Tigers best hitter in several seasons. I never, ever, saw him leading off to get a few extra at bats per week. And he had much better 7, 8 and 9 hitters than the current Tiger team.

Runs scored is all that matters. There's only 4 AL teams that have scored less. And one (Seattle) is in first place. Time to shake things up, send Meadows and Tork down and call up whoever and whoever.
