  1. Pardon my randomness, Both the Cubs and the Tigers have been in the World Series 11 times and they played each other 4 times. There is a decent possibility it could be 12 and 5 this year.
  2. Too bad we won't be going back to Colorado. That high was much more even. The division has played 700 ball for 50 games - 35-15 and that includes the White Sox 5 - 5.
  3. Imagine the look on his face tonight when his replacement threw the ball into center.
  4. I am loving this. Riley's D, sending Ibanez, Torrez' grab to end the inning. Guardians losing. When will the Power Rankings show the Tigers as Number 1. What do they have to do aside from having the best record in baseball.
  5. I have never seen a catcher show so much disgust so quickly as on the Baez homer. Love to see him isolated on video
  6. The question is can he play tic-tac-toe.
  7. Erie and Grand Rapids are winning their divisions both with .600+ percentages, Lakeland is competing and has the best record in the Florida State League over the last 10 games. Toledo is the black sheep in the organization playing about .500 ball. What a time to be a Tiger fan.
  8. "Don Who?" as a Yankee fan once said, just before they were to lose a playoff series to the Tigers.
  9. Now wasn't that a lot more interesting that those double digit wins? Tigers have the best record in baseball now. When The Athletic does their power rankings, Tigs should be #1. But... what a division. The top 4 teams in the division are on a winning streak. Over the last 5 games for each of the top 4, there was only 1 loss. That's a combined 19-1 record, a .950 winning percentage. The top 3 teams have been playing a combined .800 ball over the last 10 games, going 24 - 6. Here's the weirdest anomaly. Guardians have a -14 run differential and should have a 17-20 record. The Tigers have a +84 differential and per the theory should be 28-11. The Guardians should be 10 games behind but they are only 3.
  10. Wonder if Hinch will use openers on occasion again. Evan an accomplished starter could benefit from going through the top of the order one less time.
  11. I'm in Chicago. That would explain it. A lot of Trump praise in the PSA
  12. Have these Kristi Noem self-deportation PSAs been coming up on everyone's feeds? Watching through MLB.com
  13. Out at second. The Tigers can't even do a wild pitch right today.
  14. So who is the 27th player? Hicklen or Keider
  15. Looking at Fangraphs starting pitcher stats, and going into today they have Mize at 65th with a .3 WAR. So, at this pace he will have 16 2/3 wins when he gets to 1 WAR
  16. Last three games Tigers have averaged 5 2/3 runs per game by the end of the third inning.
  17. Is that the bat boy pitching? he looks so young?
  18. Tigers were leading the majors with a 65 run differential. Now at 74. This is starting to get a little boring.
  19. I always have an image of him trying to run down a foul ball in Comisky from RF. He didn't get to it, but I can still see him sprinting so hard covering so much ground. RIP Chet.
  20. Mize has the edge right now.
  21. 7 deep. And Sweeny might be expanding the list to eight. Always seem to have had a hole somewhere in the top 4. Tork last year, Baez until he got bumped down, Colt for awhile, Miggy for so many years.
  22. He was a more rounded player with Detroit. Him and Salley. With Chicago it was rebounds. Get the rebound and kick the ball out. When he scored, it was usually an afterthought when he realized he was undefended under the basket. That and Tenacious D for which Jack Black should thank him. After the Bulls heyday, basketball never held the same interest for me. It was just guys trying to force a ball through a hole thereafter.
  23. Lived Bulls in the 1990s. Even my daughter who was 3 remembers watching the games. When they signed Rodman after the first three-peat, it was clear they would be the best team ever. With his elite rebounding and defense, I doubt there was any player in any sport that was a more perfect fit to an already great team. When the game was over and there was time on the clock, Dennis would start going for a 3 pointer. The whole stadium would pull for him. I don't know if he ever made one but it sure added some fun drama at the end of a blowout.
  24. It's hilarious that they argued ML players might not remember to bring their gloves with them. I'm sure a few forgot where put their gloves in the dugout or someone hid it on them.
  25. I'm pulling for 5 starters with ERAs below 3. Mize and Skubal are there. Reese is 1 scoreless out away. Jackson is 10 scoreless outs out, and Flaherty has a hill to climb - 31 scoreless outs.
