  1. I’m glad I got a chance to see him pitch. I will never forget his strikeout of Vlad Jr. in the spring game this March. It was electric.
  2. That type of "Christian" likely believes Joe Biden is a demon. New Research Suggests That Belief in Demons May Help Explain Christian Support of Trump Republicans Call Biden Divisive While Equating Him To Satan and Hitler
  3. Probably because Trump is such a factor of multiples worse than the Democrats that just about anything you can come up with pales by comparison.
  4. That's fine because the Federalists needs Trump more than Trump needs them. So bye bye, Leo.
  5. No poster here would ever say Democrats are infallible, so for ewsieg to set that as the standard for himself was truly, beautifully risible.
  6. Yup, that’s me! We weren’t ready yet!
  7. So eat cake before you drop, motherforkers.
  8. Well, it's not like we couldn't see it coming from nine years away ...
  9. Newsflash: ewsieg is not going to pretend Dems are infallible.
  10. The current owners of the Tigers have owned the team for 32 seasons now and have only ten winning seasons during that span. Asterisk on that, though, because this current iteration of the current owner saw the light three years ago and basically became a different owner.
  11. Despite the paucity of BIG STARS, the punters like our chances.
  12. As long as he can sling it, I'm cool with it.
  13. People like stars. They want stars. Baseball wants what the NFL and NBA has, so fans to want stars because stars can be marketed and exploited (until they act out, of course). The whole Dombrowski Tigers run was predicated on stars, and those teams did pretty good. That's a big reason so many posters here criticized Harris for not signing stars.
  14. I don't think anyone really believes that Max Fried is a better pitcher than Skubal, but looking just at outcomes, Fried is no doubt off to a better start. I think it is defensible to consider the Yankees the better team, although only marginally better. We still have the better record, though, because outcomes. Yanks are on a pretty good run right now, though.
  15. Lemonade out of lemons: we'll have dual champions.
  16. That’s what a fireman does. Or did, anyway.
  17. Yaz’s series from hell continues apace.
  18. And he flipped the bird at someone, I assume in the stands. I definitely want to know what happened.
  19. He is just not having a good series all around. I loved when he flipped the bat out of frustration after striking out yesterday. We’re totally getting into his head.
  20. They look fully rounded now!
  21. So many fans wanted to fire the hitting coaches all last season. I thought it was more a lack of talent thing. Turns out it was a little of that, plus talent needed to develop and/or get unlocked. A lucky month here and there doesn’t hurt. I wonder how much influence Gleyber Torres, a hoary old 28-year-old veteran professional hitter, had on the other guys, in terms of professional approach to the job and whatnot.
  22. From the MLB app this morning: These April surprises have held up in May The Tigers’ offense is legit Much like last year, when the Tigers made a shocking late-season turnaround to reach the playoffs, their pitching staff appeared to be the clear strength of the team heading into 2025. After Detroit fell short in its pursuit of free-agent third baseman Alex Bregmanover the winter, the club entered the season with much of the same lineup that scored the 11th-fewest runs in MLB a year ago. But while the Tigers have again been effective at run prevention, it’s not the pitching that’s driving their rise to the top of the AL standings -- it’s the offense. (OK, Tarik Skubalhas been pretty awesome, too.) Getting unexpected contributions from Spencer Torkelson, Javier Báez and Zach McKinstry, Detroit’s offense ranks fourth in the Majors in runs per game (5.07) this season, and only the Cubs and Dodgers have scored more runs in May.
  23. No one who did the pizza “celly” ever looked like they were really into it, not even the guy who purportedly came up with it.
  24. I’m sure he’s on Scott Harris’s Xmas card list. 😏
