  1. Is Olson in the pen? I don’t know, maybe …
  2. Wow, what a fast 1-2-3. Astros looked deflated that inning. Hope it carries over!
  3. There are still two pitchers in the pen who haven’t thrown in this series yet: Casey Mize and Ty Madden.
  4. You’re right, I had a senior moment that you got to before I could change it on the sly. Err, I mean, on the fly …
  5. Oops, sorry, wrong idea
  6. Nice diacritics. Well done.
  7. And I’m not even the guy here hammering Hinch the worst on it.
  8. See you tomorrow, then.
  9. OK, now, Colt, how about a hit not directly at any outfielder.
  10. Wow, Altuve’s defense has fallen off a cliff, and not a moment too soon. Riley needs to put a ball deep into the outfield here.
  11. If Jobe was the best guy left in the pen to get a strikeout, then see you tomorrow, because at this point we need to keep the ball from falling inside the lines.
  12. We could have used a pitcher who could get strikeouts, and Jobe is not that guy. Not yet.
  13. It is really hard for the catcher to get the runner at the plate when the throw is coming from right field, and that goes double for a throw coming from right field foul territory.
  14. Has the legend been birthed yet?
  15. Ohhhh, everything is going wrong now.
  16. I don’t. I’m not an expert on Ty Cobb, but I did read a lot of contemporary accounts on him on newspapers.com when the Leersehn book came out, on which I based on criticism of his work at the time. FWIW, he was feted and fawned over at the SABR convention in Chicago that year. A lot of SABR members seemed relieved to see Cobb exonerated. He seemed to be drinking it all in.
  17. Again, maybe a failure of imagination on my part, but Hunter Brown sounds like a guy who lives in Romeo.
  18. McStinky to Keith to TORK!
  19. We’ve been lucky on line drives going right to fielders, both today and yesterday.
  20. WHOOOOOOA PARKER MEADOWS! WHAT A SHOT!
  21. I do’t think it’s anything like someone in Baseball doesn’t care for Pete Rose. Pete committed the gravest sin possible against the game. Regardless of what who in the game personally thinks about whom, it’s simply a matter of following through on the punishment proscribed in Major League Rule 21(d).
