  1. Not exactly: Two hours, one minute.
  2. The Rangers are really scuffing right now, especially in the runs-scoring department. I don’t know whether to be a little scared of that because they’re ornery and due for a breakout, or to be confident that they will continue to be lost at the plate. Skubal on the mound helps tilt it to the latter.
  3. I disagree completely. 😁
  4. True as so much of this is, I do think we've seen some evidence of trump backing down on certain fronts, such as the DC pick just the other day, and Maine last week pushing back on education freezes, and we may see him back down on Harvard yet. Either way, one thing is true: if Trump pushes and you don't push back, he will destroy you. So, might as well push back, because nothing to lose.
  5. The mayor's black, so red hats dig it.
  6. One of the reasons I left religion was the rote, almost unthinking nature of it. It started to feel like nothing more than marking time and checking boxes. When I was a child it just seemed like it's what I had to do to get to heaven or something. But at least I liked the relatively loose nature of it, and I seem to remember my high school teachers at Bishop Foley were open to discussing issues more deeply and openly, as was the norm in the 70s. I sense they do less of that in schools today.
  7. I don't mean you personally.
  8. I've been assured he's too stupid like a toddler for this to be true.
  9. Underestimate him at your peril.
  10. It's not until you consider that many priests rue that they never got to minister during pre-Vatican II time of the all-powerful, well-heeled parish pastor, pampered and fawned over by his congregation, who could do anything he wanted to anyone in the parish he wanted, and was looked upon as sitting at the right hand of the right hand of the Father. I feel so lucky to have grown up during the guitar Mass/hippie Jesus era of the Church. That might be why it took me as long as it did to finally fall away from it.
  11. Man, that guy's is kind of a chunk, isn't he? I wonder whether he's going to grow his way out of the infield?
  12. Doesn't scare me any!
  13. Except in Idaho. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabis_in_Idaho Cannabis in Idaho is fully illegal for any use, whether recreational or medical. The laws on cannabis prohibition in Idaho are among the most severe in the United States, with possession of even small amounts of it a misdemeanor crime, and no legality of medical marijuana.
  14. He knows what he’s doing.
  15. **BOOPBOOPBOOP** Aww, sorry, nobody buzzed in. The question is, "Which three Tigers coaches was everyone screaming for their heads to roll right around this time last year?"
  16. This was not dumb. He knows exactly what he's doing here.
  17. Off the top of my head, I'd guess the angle is to apply the new law selectively to punish wealthy people they don't like while giving a pass to wealthy people they do like.
  18. Speaking of which, it's time for Detroit Tigers Jeopardy! Here is "Tigers Coaches" for $1,000:
  19. The 2014 Tigers were 26-12! In fact they started 27-12. And then, in a harbinger of the nearly decade to come, they went 9-20 in their next 29. So, in a way, May 19, 2014 was the day the music started dying.
  20. Jobe seems to have a touch of loose cannon syndrome. Not that there's anything inherently wrong with that, but at times that kind of thing can reflect poorly on people who have it.
  21. The only part I like about it is the AJ post-game press conference. Once that's done, off it goes.
  22. Yeah, the Trump people definitely don't want people from Idaho "self-deporting". </end>
  23. Yeah, Al Avila did such a good job of stocking this team with prospects and all Harris had to do was come in and push the button. Sheer genius.
  24. Somewhat related to this, I really hate when a construction project starts and then sits idle for months. There’s one nearby for which they are rehabbing an ice cream place that was supposed to reopen by now, but instead they fenced it off and did about half the gutting job this past fall, and since then it’s been just sitting idle all through winter and now halfway into spring. The building has since been tagged to Kingdom Come since the project appears like it’s been abandoned. It makes the neighborhood look totally sketch.
  25. Beau Brieske is the new garbage time Kenta out of the pen.
