  1. Good call. It’ll be Paddack for at least 80 or 90 pitches, regardless of how many runs he gives up; then Rainey and Seward (or Seward and Rainey). And if that’s not enough to get us eight full innings—or hopefully, nine—then Kahnle to mop up.
  2. Absolutely! I said in another thread earlier today that I would have been at least somewhat relieved if we did not win tonight and tomorrow, we back into the playoffs with an Astros loss tonight, and then lose 2-0 in the ALWC series, because I would have much, much preferred that to losing out on the playoffs entirely. But charging into the playoffs with a win on the field—I am more than merely relieved. I am STOKED!
  3. Tigers are BACK in the playoffs, and they clinch on the field! SUCK IT, NEGATIVE HORSE****!
  4. Tigers beat Red Sox, 2-1, and so:
  5. Three outs away from the playoffs, but it would be a lot cooler if we clinched it with a lot more runs than we have now.
  6. I wasn’t the one who said that. The other guy said that about me. So why don’t you ask him which I like better?
  7. I’ve long thought Booby Scales sounds a lot like one of the of DJs sampled on the Queens of the Stone Age album:
  8. You don’t say. 😠
  9. I don’t think a guy coming off a 2.3-win season nets us a legit pitching prospect and an above average third basemen or shortstop—even if he is under control for three more years.
  10. I don’t think anyone has ever accused me of being a fan ruled by my emotions before. Everyone else thinks I’m a saber robot.
  11. I guarantee you he will not.
  12. You must not be listening to the Tigers radio feed because Bobby Scales is a really good analyst.
  13. Tell you what, John: if we win today, i will start the game thread for all the remaining games in the regular season. 😁
  14. Where: Fenway Park, Boston MA Listen: WDFN 97.1 FM The Ticket Watch: FDSNDT; NESN; MLB Network; MLB.tv ($) Game Time Forecast: 74 degrees; winds SE at 5 and expected to increase slightly during the game; precipitation: none. Projected starting lineup:
  15. In preparation for attacking the American people when they gather to protest? Because deadly force is now on the table in Portland.
  16. I believe we do not pitch Skubal in that case, even if it's the difference between home field advantage vs not.
  17. I can see why you ssay that, but I will be, if not exactly happy, then at least somewhat relieved if we don't win tonight or tomorrow, back into the playoffs with an Astros loss tonight, and lose 2-0 in the ALWC series. I would much, much prefer that to the scenario of we lose two, Astros win two, and we lose out on the playoffs entirely.
  18. I'm totally on board with selling Riley high to get multiple multiple above average big league players. I think everyone would be on board with that. Speaking only for myself, what I am not on board with is selling low for whatever big league players we can get for Riley because we hate that he doesn't shorten up his swing with two strikes.
  19. One could also say Harris is focused enough on his long-term plan that he refuses to throw it all away to shift his focus to win this year or bust.
  20. I tend to buy the "asking price was way too high" argument.
  21. Golden opportunity squandered.
  22. Rangers crush Guardians in Cleveland, 7-3. And so, despite the Tigers coughing up the game in Boston by failing to take advantage of big threats in the first and fourth and ninth innings, and then giving up runs in each of the last three innings:
  23. I get that it’s Aroldis Chapman throwing triple digits and all, but there were some pitches in the fat part that major league hitters should be able to do something with.
  24. Two called strikes in the zone to start with? Jesus, Mr Professional Hitter, what did you need to see there?? At least you got the runner over.
  25. How about J-Hen coming up big here! We can’t not plate this run.
