The question isn't will Cleveland cool off, it's will they cool off enough to matter? Because even if they cool off to, say, .500 to close out the season, that's more than enough to pass the Tigers based on the last month of play. Our pitching, which was our strength when we were cruising, is now a loaded diaper after injuries and regression. Other than Skubal, who can we confidently project to be reliable going forward?
I'm not giving up, because baseball, but my faith in the team has diminished to the point where I kind of go into each game expecting them to lose now.
