  1. Radio is still three pitches behind gameday.
  2. Well that was fast
  3. It was Sunday at 12:20 in the afternoon. On Sunday we called lunch dinner because it was a special event. For actual “dinner“ in the evening we usually had something simple like cold cuts because we’d already had the big Sunday meal earlier.
  4. Towards the end of 2006 I think the Tigers allowed 26 runs to the Royals in the first game of a doubleheader then shut them out in the 2nd game so it’s totally possible.
  5. I was watching TV when they were bringing Lee Harvey Oswald out in 1963 and my mom impatiently called me to Sunday dinner and I missed him being shot.
  6. Keep it coming!
  7. 3000 then a Weaver from Tork!
  8. Nolan Ryan used to submerge his entire pitching arm in ice for an hour after a game. Does anybody else do that or is that considered insane?
  9. I’m trying to figure out if this team is worth paying to watch on mlb.tv this year. I always get radio so I can listen in my car. If this team continues to fail me I can at least watch men’s cycling races on Peacock for a week. Both La Flèche Wallonne on Wednesday and Liege-Bastogne-Liege next Sunday are terrific one-day races. But then Peacock doesn’t have anything else until mid-May.
  10. My weather app says it’s hardly rained in KC and little rain is expected but who knows. They wouldn’t cancel it for the heck of it.
  11. Is the whole ream on the DL? Jeez.
  12. I stop paying attention for a couple games and the house burns down?
  13. Jim Price was only 22 when I saw the 5th game of the ‘68 World Series with my dad when I was 16. I thought he had to be older than that.
  14. Got my 4th COVID shot today. Needed to do “my own research” on Moderna over Pfizer because the clinic said it was “my choice.” Hope I don’t go blind like Ned Flanders did after LASIK surgery. You never know.
  15. Baez is making me happy.
  16. It’s interesting how in old pictures of baseball games people wore suits and nice hats like they were going to church or something. Maybe that’s the close-up box seats though.
  17. I like your attitude. Every game is a one-game winner take all playoff with the devil, especially when you’re playing the White Sox.
  18. On a beautiful Sunday afternoon in the 1920s pro-White Sox street urchins defaced Navin Field with graffiti and taunted Ty Cobb. White Sox fans have been bad for a long time.
  19. They’re just doing this for the sake of another dramatic walk off.
  20. Garcia was stupefied by how slow Cabrera was running and lost track of where he was.
