  1. Riley strikes out twice as much as the average MLB hitter so the futility you feel with the strike out is doubled with him. You have twice as many chances to feel let down. But when he connects, the results are pretty good and he’s pretty decent in the outfield.
  2. Baez breaks up the humiliation of being no hit. I would say this is a substitute for scoring six runs, but I would be lying if I said that.
  3. This bottom of the first inning was maddening.
  4. I hope we don’t have to wait as long into this game as we did last night to break up the no-hitter.
  5. Google AI is so stupid. Apparently in 1985 the Kansas City Royals defeated the Kansas City Royals to win the World Series. The sad thing I have to admit is that the Royals have won two World Series championships in the time that my own team has won zero. AI Overview The Kansas City Royals have won two World Series championships in their history: 1985 and 2015. Here's a more detailed look: 1985: The Royals defeated the Kansas City Royals in a 7-game series. 2015: The Royals defeated the New York Mets in a 5-game series.

  7. I hope I’m wrong but there’s a good chance the Tigers lose this game. It’s a road game for one thing, so right there you’re operating at a deficit. The Tigers are also showing fewer signs of the hitting prowess that characterized them earlier in the season. It might well be that scouts from other teams are beginning to ascertain what makes this lineup tick. Cleveland sure seemed to. And they are facing a pitcher that is really good and we are sending up our fifth starter, who has his moments as well as his issues. Actually, they have no right to win this game, but they do have a tendency to surprise so I’m hoping that’s the tendency that prevails today.
  8. I’m afraid this isn’t real. These two bottom photos are not even of Tork. And the only place this has been reported is on Facebook and not from any credible news source. Many of the commenters point this out. I’m not trying to be a prick about this.
  9. We should send Beau to them for their catcher. They need relief help.
  10. I don’t remember any pitcher I ever paid close attention to who’s walked so few batters as Skubal.
  11. The matchup for tomorrow doesn’t look promising.
  12. I feel like I’m failing.
  13. At least he didn’t strike out
  14. Keith singles and it’s up to Riley not to strike out
  15. Now the crowd is standing… Heck
  16. Top of the Tigers order begins the top of the ninth. It’s like a one inning game where you begin down one run.
  17. It would be a shame to lose a game like this that is so easily within reach.
  18. Fortunately, The ump is on our side, giving us a free strike that isn’t a strike on the next batter.
  19. Beau gives up a double. And here I was worried about him issuing a walk.
  20. I’ll have to admit, although I find this game a nailbiter this is the kind of baseball game that people who like other sports would hate. You really have to know and understand the game or have played it to like something like this.
  21. So does this umpire have tickets to the opera or something and he wants runs to be scored?
  22. Dingler finally walks. Thanks to the ump.
  23. He’s not he got the handshake
  24. I jinxed it you’re welcome
