  1. Oh, I totally remember the player of the game stuff. it was kind of a running joke.
  2. And yet they pitched to him like he was Ted Williams or something.
  3. Cleveland beating Washington 8–3 in the sixth. The tedium of Cleveland being good wears thin on me. This division is starting to look a lot tougher and the Tigers are going to have to go all Lawrence of Arabia and take no prisoners when they play within their own division.
  4. It’s raining a little in Denver and it’s supposed to be raining a little more possibly a couple hours before the game, but it looks like this game should be a go-er Squire, nudge nudge wink wink say no more…
  5. This team is absolutely more fun. During the peak years it just seemed that an assembly of individuals were send out to play the game. Now we have a team full of highly trained ninja assassins who can actually run up walls.
  6. We don’t need no stinking badges either.
  7. USA today thinks the Tigers are for real. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2025/05/05/mlb-power-rankings-al-standings-tigers/83448737007/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR6lbwp2HWtiCM1nUtF9cVkep442pQDRpeNhSpuz1vg0qUsNjRvVHXmeUU9jKQ_aem_fKfVUYJwgGLcJwyE0wPnZw#q0wfacbxg2sq72p03wj7jx0cwk2ij7n
  8. What a dumbass I guess I wasn’t paying attention very closely at the time to realize this.
  9. Not seeing it on my MLB app on my phone, but on my TV it says that today’s game in Colorado has been postponed.
  10. And I don’t think the team will go into a nose dive because I don’t think the world revolves around my random actions, although if the skies part and the sun shines, and tonight‘s game is not rained out, I might begin to think that it does. If that’s the case, I’ll be like Ren in Ren and Stimpy and pray for $1 million as well as huge pectoral muscles.
  11. So I did it. I waited for the “Mother’s Day“ sale or whatever the heck it is to get mlb.tv for half price. $69.99 now let’s watch the team go into a nose dive and make me regret it. In all honesty I don’t think that’s going to happen.
  12. On my iPhone, I asked a question about why the Japanese baseball season was shorter than the American season and this is what Google AI told me: AI Overview “Japanese baseball seasons are shorter than American (MLB) seasons primarily because they have fewer games…” At least they didn’t charge me for this sterling insight.
  13. According to my yahoo weather app — which relies upon Weather Underground — the game must assuredly be rained out on Tuesday. On Wednesday it should merely be cloudy, and on Thursday afternoon sunny. So if this is what happens, we should be able to get this series in with a doubleheader on Wednesday and a day game on Thursday.
  14. Finally got around watching the 7th episode of Apple TV’s THE STUDIO where Continental Studio’s team tries to come up with a movie cast that won't offend anyone for their stupid KOOL-AID product placement cash grab movie. The bad possibilities kept getting worse and God it was hilarious. Also watched last night’s 4th episode of season 2 of HBO-MAX’s THE LAST OF US. Its fidelity to the game was at times quite distinct and where it wasn’t it distilled the essence of the game. There were some very intense scenes. Some of them truly horrific. There are only going to be 7 episodes for this season while there were 9 the first season. I think there’s supposed to be one more season so they’re going to have to collapse a lot of action into three more episodes this year to get to the halfway point of the second game, and however many more it takes to finish the story.
  15. According to my Yahoo weather app, it will be raining all day tomorrow at least during game time. I am preparing for a doubleheader the next day.
  16. Riley Green is the American League player of the week thanks to his display of home run hitting prowess.
  17. I don’t know how to quantify baseball movies to discern if one is better than another. Field of Dreams just resonates with me more deeply than others. I distrust sentimentality because it is so easily exploited by demagogues. But for me Field of Dreams transcends the narrow scar of sentimentality. For me, it’s a recollection of something sewn into the fabric of my childhood that intersects with something deeper and more vibrant than myself. I like being reacquainted with that spring-like purity as often as I can. Other films don’t do that for me, and they are no less worthy of enjoyment because of it. Field of Dreams just makes all eight of my cylinders fire in the perfect sequence. To me it’s like Music.
  18. This is very insightful, thank you.
  19. Best record in AL Best DIFF in MLB
  20. A home run to center field there should come with a participation ribbon and a juice box.
  21. Whose bright idea resulted in a 396ft. centerfield fence? That’s cruelty to pitchers.
  22. 20 HRs in the last 7 games.
  23. So does this make up for last night?
  24. 4-3 road trip trip so far.
