chasfh Posted September 11, 2023 Share Posted September 11, 2023 I thought SGL (may I call him SGL?) did wonderfully yesterday, but he wasn’t exactly killing it in AAA, given up great gobs of homers combined with an elevated walk rate, and he will have rough days, and posters will call for his head. It's not worth much, because hardly any one in this forum knows enough about prospects to really understand their value. Maybe Avila, the former scout, actually knew something about him where he preferred him to some player ranked 17th out of 30 in some amateur list. And I have suggested in this thread that I was wrong at the time and that, while only one start, SGL's performance yesterday makes one think about the reaction that the trade elicited at the time in general.
