Jason_R Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago This year’s first is not the only asset available and it certainly wouldn’t be enough. Would it take Danielson, Bear, and a 2027 first to be competitive? Would it be worth it? I’d rather stay on the bubble for another year that give up those assets. And he probably ends up in Florida anyway. But Stevie needs to fix the top-six forward hole that is throwing everything out of whack and there aren’t a lot of options. Quote

I would do that deal in a heartbeat (make the 2027 1st top 5 protected though) but i don’t think Ottawa would. They’d want an established player, likely Edvinsson. Quote

Jason_R Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Yeah, if he really goes on the market Ottawa may demand an established top tier player in return I don’t think I’d be willing to give up Edvinsson unless it was part of a package to pry loose an Auston Matthews. And I can’t imagine Stevie even considering trading Larkin, let alone Larkin waiving his NTC. Stevie is backed in the corner. Will be interesting to see how he tries to wriggle out this summer. Buying low on EP40 might be his only option other than waiting for the prospects to develop. Quote

They’d want an established player, likely Edvinsson. they'll start by asking for seider. they MIGHT settle for edvinsson, but seider would be where any trade discussion for tkachuk or matthews begins. what did his brother get traded for? weegar, huberdeau and picks? huberdeau was coming off a 115 point season and weegar was a top 15 defenseman in the league. now, matthew was younger and had bettee scoring numbers than his brother. but the wings dont have a player with the numbers huberdeau had. the closest equivalent is larkin. what about danielson and raymond for tkachuk? buddha Posted 28 minutes ago Posted 28 minutes ago raymond is young and prolific, but he's small and now has been injured late in the year multiple times. he's going to carry a lot of value in the league because of his production and his contract, so if you want to pull back a STAR, i think he'd be likely to be in the conversation. what kind of team do you want to be? do you want to be heavy and physical? or small and speedy? i dont think the wings have a plan. or if they do, it hasnt been executed very well, because now theyre not physical, not especially speedy, and not all that skilled. so what are you? Hongbit Posted 11 minutes ago Posted 11 minutes ago (edited) Raymond could potentially also do the trick too buy you may have to throw something else in too. The Sens have a nice defenseman group with Sanderson, Cabot, Spence, and Zub. Not sure they would be interested in adding salary of any of the Wings young blue liners. Good point about Larkin’s NTC. I doubt he waives it for Ottawa. Edited 10 minutes ago by Hongbit Quote
