McDavid isn’t going anywhere until the end of his contract. In the meantime, he will hold Stan’s feet to the fire about goaltending and other roster issues. I don’t know who Edmonton has that would meet Detroit’s needs and be a comparable asset, but Edmonton is desperate for a goalie and Cossa spent time with the Oil Kings. There will be Cossa to Edmonton rumors until McDavid’s wish for a new goalie is granted

Habs about to take a 2-1 series lead over Buffalo, up 6-2 with 4 minutes to go. Canes should have at least 10 days off.

Alex Lyon was in for 4 goals against in Game 2 against Montreal and 5 goals tonight, so doubt he will start Game 4.

Congrats to Bill Guerin for having the sack to make a big move and trade for Quinn Hughes even without a contract commitment.   He knew it wouldn’t be a waste even if he couldn’t sign him long term.   Even if it’s only 2 years,  it’s been a massive success winning their first playoff series in a decade.

Couldn't help myself 😂

It'll be interesting to see what they can do moving forward without a first round pick this draft and their 2-4 missing the following draft.  Their prospect pool is already bottom half of the league, they have to hope Stramel is a guy especially since they have no center depth (or a number one center) on their nhl roster.  They have like $12 million in cap space next season but they have a lot of roster spaces to fill so it isn't like they can acquire a premier player.  Their non-Hughes/Faber defenders were pretty damn bad.  I guess it is nice to win a playoff series but that is a flawed roster with a tenuous future moving forward.

No team should ever count on non-lottery 1st rounders on their team for at least 3 years and even if they make it at all.    The lack of picks won’t have any impact on their team for a few years at least.

The Wild took a big step forward this year.  They will have another shot at it next year.  If things don’t turn out how they want,  they will be able to trade Hughes at the deadline for a big haul.

Honestly; I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a playoff with two teams that look so dominant.  It’s like nobody else has a chance.  Can’t fault Minnesota for losing to that wagon.   (Watch both lose in the conference finals now that I said that 😆)

Well ya if they were using that to make the pick themselves, but they don't have that ammo for a trade to acquire anybody either!  If you don't have prospects to deal you're probably hoping people want your picks.

Their center options in free agency are....Malkin and Boone Jenner?  They wouldn't be able to afford either them if they want to fill out their roster too.  Malkin is going back to Pitt anyways if he doesn't retire.  So Jenner and....Jack Roslivic?  Roslivic is projected to eat up almost half of their available cap space!
