Recent history in Brooklyn and Phoenix tells us those will be valuable. Green was a disaster in the playoffs. Almost unplayable, and didn't get off the bench down the stretch in multiple games. He can score but does absolutely none of the small things needed to win games. He will eventually find his way to Charlotte, New Orleans, Washington, or some other perpetual losing team. He will score a ton of points, make a ton of money, and lose a ton of games. The Thunder and Pacer rosters are loaded with guys I would take before Green, and I'm not talking about their stars. I mean Caruso, Dort, McConnell, Nembhard, and Nesmith. phoenix making a big bet that green will eventually grow up and become a better well rounded player. i have my doubts. another good point from that athletic article is that phoenix now has booker, green, brooks, and beal and they all play the same position. i dont think much of ishbia. watch them take a spartan at #10.... Deleterious Posted June 24 Author Posted June 24 Nice move by Boston. Simmons is expiring next year and can help them with Tatum out. Shaves two expensive years off of Holiday's deal. Could move him again at the deadline, maybe. Portland, I don't know. Maybe they try to flip Holiday again. Quote
buddha Posted June 24 Posted June 24 that makes no sense for portland unless they are flipping him somewhere else. Quote

You'd have to give ME more than two 2nd round picks to take on Holiday's contract. He's a bench player with an All-Star's contract. And yet Portland not only gives THEM the second round picks, they also give up Simons? Did Adam Silver give them a call and make them help out Boston? Quote

I saw a Portland fan describe it as an investment. He thought they brought Jrue in to mentor Sharpe and Henderson. If he improves those guys, he will be worth every penny IMO. I also looked at their cap situation. Even adding Holiday, they are still going to have over $75 million in space in the summer of 2026, and they are not a free agent destination. Seemed like an extreme best case scenario, but who knows. Quote

Deleterious Posted June 24 Author Posted June 24 I guess it moved NO under the luxury tax this year. Took on an extra two years for Poole though. Quote
Hongbit Posted June 24 Posted June 24 So good to have Joe D back in the league. I’m not sure why they made this hire usually leads to not sure why he made this move. Quote
Deleterious Posted June 24 Author Posted June 24 A few people reporting that Boston is also looking to move into the top 10 in tomorrow's draft. Quote
Deleterious Posted June 24 Author Posted June 24 That is a lot of money. These moves were likely to happen even with a healthy Tatum. The new CBA wins again. Imagine paying $210 million and that doesn't cover one cent of salary. Quote
Deleterious Posted June 25 Author Posted June 25 I figured they were done. Sounds like one of those things where they are listening, but will only jump at a great offer. Quote
Deleterious Posted June 25 Author Posted June 25 Player's contracts only pays him for the 82 games in the regular season. It offers no pay for playoff games. There is a playoff pool provided by the league based on playoff ticket sales, etc. Each team is given a different payout by how far you go in the playoffs. Each player on OKC this year will receive just over $800k for playing 23 playoff games. That is just under $35,000 per game. SGA made $40 million this year, or just under $488,000 per game. Quote
Deleterious Posted June 25 Author Posted June 25 He is saving Houston around $20 million this year by doing this. That will allow them to use the full MLE ($14.1 million) in free agency this summer. Quote

Deleterious Posted June 25 Author Posted June 25 Was a bit shocked Bridges name came up. I wonder what they are even looking for. He has 1 year left, maybe they just realize they can't afford to keep him. 1 Quote
Deleterious Posted Thursday at 04:26 PM Author Posted Thursday at 04:26 PM I know that sounds crazy at first. But extensions can sometimes be less money than a max free agent contract. I assume that is what's going on here. Quote
Deleterious Posted Thursday at 04:41 PM Author Posted Thursday at 04:41 PM Yep. A max contract if he hits free agency will be 5 years $245 million. Quote
Shinzaki Posted Friday at 08:00 PM Posted Friday at 08:00 PM Is Austin Reaves even worth 89 mil over 4 years? Quote
