I feel bad for that Queen kid that the Pelicans drafted.  He was asked about all the criticism at his introductory press conference.  I like the kid, don't even mind trading up to get him.  Its just the unprotected 1st when your best case scenario is a play-in team.

It's wild how the first half of Dumars career he put together such a well crafted team, and then the second half we end up with a front court of Monroe, Drummond and Josh Smith. Something broke in him with the Billups trade.

And no, the start of Joe's downfall was not the Billups trade.  The start of Joe's downfall was hiring Flip Saunders. 

Flip was a good coach, no shade being thrown at him here.  But he was an offensive coach, and Detroit was built on defense.  It was like mixing oil and water.

I keep seeing people mention Dawn Staley.  Hell of a coach, and she has earned an NBA shot IMO.  Just not a huge fan of a team built to win now hiring a college coach.

 I don’t pretend to understand the NBA’s ridiculously complex financial system.  Seeing  a lot of veterans sign $6 - $10M per year when it seemed like just a few years back everyone who could breathe got at least $10M
