Because the Lakers gave them permission to do so.  There isn't a team around that would trade for him without first contacting his rep to see if he is receptive to the idea.

This isn't the Suns salary cap.  It's their dead money they will be paying for the next 5 years.

It's hilarious because they dug their own grave by trying to create a super-team that everyone could see wouldn't work.  But, I'll give them some credit for owning it and just pulling the plug. At this point I'd do the same and happily lock up 10% of my cap to move on from this disaster.

Wait, he tore his achilles. So, they're paying him 14M next year to rehab and then another 28M for 2 years after that when he'll be trying to come back from an achilles tear at 36+ years old? Yea, that's going to work out well. Just give him the vet minimum to retire a Blazer.

This is what I was talking about with the Beasley situation.  All that to lay $13K?  He most likely had to use multiple accounts, which means you need multiple people to sign up.  You would need to be like +800 to win $100K in that scenario.  You lose a third of your winnings to the people that signed up for you.  They want a cut, plus enough to cover their tax bill.  And Rozier made $25 million last season, or just over $300k per game.

I guess if you're broke, it doesn't matter how much you make per game.

Also, no way you don't get caught.  Old school betting with live bookies, maybe you get away with it.  On an app where computers can chew on the betting patterns?  No chance.

Nothing like tapping into 1.5 billion customers.  They probably haven't had this since Yao Ming retired.

No joke: Chinese rookie Yang Hansen is the NBA’s biggest summer star

Quote

Back in China, 5.2 million people watched Tencent’s free broadcast of the Blazers’ exhibition against the Memphis Grizzlies, according to an NBA official, dwarfing the 1.1 million Americans who watched No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg’s debut for the Dallas Mavericks on ESPN. On Tencent’s paywalled service, one of Yang’s games drew 3.4 million viewers — 16 times the service’s average. And on China Central Television, Yang’s summer league games garnered larger average audiences than the national broadcast network’s telecasts of this year’s NBA playoffs.

Harden, Leonard, Paul, Lopez, and Beal.  They need to add Doc Brown to their coaching staff so he can take them back in time to 2015 when this would have been a good team.
