With seasons starting overseas I figured it was time to make a new thread...

NDN had a 3 assist game before this too.  There's always been talent there, he just is injured all the time

Anton had an assist

Big man has some skill

who is a better prospect: matt savoie or buch?  both are undersized offensive players.  savoie is a center but he might not have the size to stay there in the nhl.

I would imagine Savoie is the more highly regarded prospect due to being a center and doing pretty well in the AHL stats wise last season.  It seems like people respect that more than KHL production.  They are probably more equal than that because it remains to be seen if either of their games will translate to the NHL and I don't expect Savoie to stay at center.  I haven't gotten any sort of extended look at either outside of highlights so I'm not super qualified to say in my mind.  I do feel that Buchelnikov has done really well at his age in the KHL so far, so I lean his way with my homer glasses on.

Elite prospects released their top 100 skater prospects, six Wings on it.  The ranks are...interesting:

20. Bear

27. ASP

63. MBN

68. Danielson

89. Buium

98. Buchelnikov

I'm shocked Buium is on the list let alone above Buch.  I'd flip flop Danielson and MBN.  I don't know enough about other prospects to dispute where they are in the 100.

Pronman has his NHL team's  u23 pipeline out for 2025...Wings are at #11...up from 14 a year ago.  He ranks the top ten in our system and NHL team thusly

Danielson

Simon

Marco

ASP

Bear

MBN

Cossa

Genborg

Augustine

Buium

1-6 are listed as bubble top of the line up or middle ...after that..Cossa is listed "middleof the lineup(as a goalie?) and everyone else is listed as "projected to play some NHL games"

If Danielson ends up better than Marco, that is good. If Bear does not end up better than Kasper, that is not good. If ASP does not end up better than Kasper, that is very not good.

asp is small.  there is a much better chance he ends up shayne gotisbhere than erik karlsson.  a third pair defenseman who runs the power play.

kasper showed last year that he can be pretty darn good.  i'd be real happy if bear ends up that good.

danielson is tall.  2C would be a great result for him.  that's why he's "ranked" higher than the other two: because he's bigger.

I don’t disagree but this team needs a star. Kasper is a good player but not the kind of player who will drive a team.

Based on the very little I know about these players, ASP has the best chance to develop into a dynamic player who could drive play every shift. If he ends up a Gostisbehere, that’s hard to complain about but we are running out of chances to find game-changing players.

Pronman has always loved Danielson, I do feel like he locks in on what he sees a prospect as and doesn't move guys around much post draft.  For me right now the list starts with Edvinsson and Marco at the top, they both look like they can be impact guys in the NHL to me.  Danielson / ASP / Bear have the chance to be better in my mind, but I need to see it.  Overall it feels like a pretty fair list though he seems to undersell Augustine a bit.  Shocker, but I'm very happy with the group of players we have here.  I think they have complimentary play styles and hopefully can all develop into good NHLers as a group.

I'd probably fit Lombardi somewhere in that list though:
