I don't want to jinx it but I think that win may be the nail in the coffin for KC. We have the tiebreaker so they are gonna have to pick up 10 in 24 games, would be hard enough on it's own but considering they don't have anymore against us it makes it just about impossible.

The division race is over. The Tigers could probably go 8-16 and still win in it with 88 wins, as KC isn’t going to go 19-6 to beat that or Cleveland go 20-7 to do so.

Houston’s loss today is huge. They’re now 4.5 games behind the Tigers for the bye and the Tigers win the tiebreaker. Seattle is 6.5 games back of the Tigers but would win the tiebreaker. The math is a huge mountain for them.

KC is only 3 games behind Seattle for the final wildcard and has a series with them on the horizon.  They are still alive, just not for the division.

Montero in.  No doubt the Royals will get the tying run up to bat here.

Montero has quietly become one of our most reliable relievers over the last two weeks.

Yes, and Cleveland is only 3.5 out. Still all meaningful games

This. I've been scoreboard watching but mostly for Seattle, Houston and Toronto. After the trade deadline, I thought Seattle would take off. That hasn't been the case, yet.
