Deleterious Posted September 11 Author Posted September 11 Pablo says in the podcast that Silver didn't mention a single word about this at the owners meeting. He also said that pissed quite a few owners off. Quote
Betrayer Posted September 11 Posted September 11 The rug is going to be pretty lumpy after they finish sweeping all this stuff under it. Tim Donaghy is still under there waiting for some friends to hang out with. 1 Quote

Deleterious Posted September 12 Author Posted September 12 There is obvious value having a star athlete associated with your company. That is why you tell people they are actually associated with your company. Aspiration didn't do that. They paid him and told nobody he was on the payroll. That doesn't make sense. Quote
Deleterious Posted Saturday at 04:18 PM Author Posted Saturday at 04:18 PM Ballmer’s most viable defense at this point may be to present receipts for his silver and commemorative plate purchases from Fox News, perhaps even adding a reverse mortgage for good measure. Quote
Deleterious Posted Monday at 01:25 PM Author Posted Monday at 01:25 PM Basically, 2/$45 million because third year is a team option. No team on earth is going to exercise that third year. It does represent some movement by GSW thought. They were offering a team option on year 2. He wants any option to be a player option. GSW has not made any moves this summer. They have to settle this before they can do anything. Most feel Al Horford will sign with them when this is finalized. Quote

Amazingly, for a document of this size, the exact mechanics of how this works aren’t clearly spelled out, and the definitions in Article I of the CBA don’t include “void contract” as an entry. Opposing teams are surely rooting for this penalty, but to me that seems an unlikely endgame — it’s basically double jeopardy, giving the Clippers the cap hit without the player. Quote
Deleterious Posted Tuesday at 05:53 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 05:53 PM Training camp contract. Doesn't count against the cap or as a roster spot. Converts to a 1-year deal if he is still around on opening night and then it counts. Quote
