The only position either can play is C. I may be wrong on this... But I think Turner can successfully be pushed over to PF. Quote

I don't think he has the lateral quickness to guard a 4. But let's put that aside. His value on defense is rim protection. Putting him at the 4 means he is spending 90% of his time on the perimeter. That takes away his valuable rim protection. Quote
1984Echoes Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Can't the Pistons do a defensive swap? IE: Duren/Stew on the floor, Duren D's the C and Stew the PF. Turner/Stew on the floor, Turner D's the C and Stew the PF. Duren/Turner on the floor, Turner D's the C and Duren the PF. Quote
1984Echoes Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Also, JB could run a minor stagger on the floor if he puts Stew always on the floor with Duren and staggers Turner between Cade/Duren/Turner/Thompson/etc. and Ivey/Turner/Holland/LaVert etc... Quote

Duren/Turner on the floor, Turner D's the C and Duren the PF. #1 Stewart is one of the best rim protectors in the league and you now have him playing on the perimeter, taking him away from his strength. #2 Same as #1 #3 Duren gets cooked on the perimeter. That is why he guarded Josh Hart in the playoffs. He isn't much of an offensive threat. If you want Turner, the answer is to move Duren. Turner is better on defense especially at the rim. He won't score as much probably but will provide spacing that Duren doesn't. Quote
Shinzaki Posted November 26 Posted November 26 He's probably not available because the Pacers just added him this year...but Jay Huff would be a nice bench big. Decent size and he is a career 38% shooter on 3's Quote
