the only guys on this list who get moved, imo, are kennard and maybe christie.  i dont want kennard unless there is no one else.  he's duncan robinson without the try hard effort on D.  he'd be hunted just like robinson is going to be hunted.

christie i would take a look at, but ehat would dallas need to move him?  a first rounder?  is he worth that?  i guess if there is no oyher alternative to use that pick in a trade...

Christie is mostly a shooting specialist.  Maybe if they snag him, try to trade Robinson and his contract to upgrade other places.

Sam has another possibility for their trade exception.

We get Coby White and we send Chicago this years first and two future seconds.  He fits into the the trade exception.

white hasnt been healthy for any length of time this season.  i'd be wary about that.

That volume is crazy.  Doing that on a terrible team is crazy.  Now put him on the court with Cade, a guy teams are going to concentrate on, and imagine what MPJ could do.

what did he do with jokic?  it would likely be similar here.

mpj is still a huge injury risk too.

look, anyone they would get will have flaws.  people usually dont trade superstar players.  since there doesnt seem to be a lot of options out there, its going to cost a ton to get him.  

would you give up harris, ivey and multiple first round picks for mpj?

His numbers are better than his Denver days.  Same shooting percentage, 40%, but on higher volume.  Averaging 4 more attempts.  Higher volume same percentage is always impressive.  Doing so, going from the third option to the first is really impressive.  

Backs are always tricky, but he has played 77 and 81 games the previous two seasons.  

If Brooklyn offered that deal, I would run to a phone and lock it in with the league office before they changed their minds. 

The biggest downside to MPJ is a lot of his baskets are assisted.  Something like 75% of them are.  So when Cade is on the bench, you can't really hand MPJ the ball and have hi m go to work.  He still needs to be set up.  Of course, if you could hand him the ball, he would be a top 10 player and wouldn't be available.

Plus one.

As for the second part, I would focus on developing/ obtaining a proper second ball-handler/ distributor to "assist" Cade in that department. I don't believe we necessarily need a forward that fills those duties, although it would be nice...

But as you say, then he's a top 10 player and he wouldn't be available to us.

So I'd rather split that into two guys... MPJ and a 6th-man PG for example...
