lordstanley Posted January 23 Author Posted January 23 Geez, another goal crease goal, tied again. Quote
lordstanley Posted January 23 Author Posted January 23 Wings are getting some unusually good chances so late in a tied game, like the DeB breakaway Quote
lordstanley Posted January 23 Author Posted January 23 I wanted 3 pts on this 3 game road trip and that is now ensured. Wings lose quickly in overtime. Quote
buddha Posted January 23 Posted January 23 getting one point in a game that should have been a schedule loss is a pretty good outcome. minny is the third best team in the west, they were playing at home, and the wings were on a road back to back after a big divisional game in toronto. AND they didnt have edvinsson. it was a good point to get. finnie played 8 minutes tonight. a trip to GR in his future? Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) That's a good outcome, actually. Getting a point on the road is always good Against an equal team On the second half of a back-to-back. I'll take it. I was watching the game and checked the weather in Minny and the air temp was -17. Wind chill was -32. Hearty bunch there. I wouldn't have gone out in that. Motor City Sonics Posted January 23 Posted January 23 JVR is fun to watch. So much better than Tarasenko I didn't see the OT goal until just now. That's kind of a bad goal to give up there. Hell of a shot, but yeah.....Mo may have screened just a tad. Mo gets about 10 mulligans this season. Quote

And it wasn’t just getting the point, except for the firsr 5 minutes of the 3rd they played the Wild even. Wings looked the more dangerous team in the last 5 minutes of regulation. Quote

lordstanley Posted January 23 Author Posted January 23 Edvinsson’s injury doesn’t appear to be serious, might keep him out of tomorrow’s game in Winnipeg. Quote
slothfacekilla Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Despite the Wild driving a lot of the play I thought the Wings had a great chance to win that game. The goals against felt really frustrating because they felt preventable if defenders and Talbot weren't going scramble mode. But it's tough to argue with getting a point on the road on a back to back. Quote

Wings looked the more dangerous team in the last 5 minutes of regulation. That’s why I was disappointed. I can’t remember the last time the Wings were that in control of a game. There was a shift with the big guys (Elmer and Ras) where we controlled the puck for an extended period. I think the Wild had someone near 3 minutes on a shift. We just looked like the better team. Frustrating given the game situation, but a good result given the schedule, surprise Edvinsson injury, and the night Hamonic had. Quote
sagnam Posted January 24 Posted January 24 (edited) Oh, any the first Wild goal was weak, somehow it found its way through Talbot but he was in position and 99 times out of 100 he makes the save. The broken Sieder stick goal was unfortunate too. It’s hard to stress enough how much better the Wings looked outside the start of the 3rd. Edited January 24 by sagnam Quote

lordstanley Posted January 25 Author Posted January 25 The Wings need to make sure tonight against the Jets isn't a letdown game. The Wings played well the 10-15 minutes but were back in their heels closer to the end of the period. 0-0 after 1. Quote
sagnam Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Whelp. Down 1-0 and not feeling like the Wings have it tonight. Still a lot of game left though. Quote
lordstanley Posted January 25 Author Posted January 25 After an ineffective power play, the Wings tie it soon after on a goalmouth scramble. Quote

Ugly counts too. I’m curious what the rate is for centers being kicked out of a face off. This game seems to have one more often than I can remember. One led directly to the Jets goal. Quote
sagnam Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Raymond and Kasper both tried to play a puck with a high stick and their failure to actually make contact results in a 3rd goal. Go figure. Ugly counts. The 2nd wings goal was pretty. Quote
lordstanley Posted January 25 Author Posted January 25 Wings slowly started to asset control in the 3rd. 5-1 Wings late. Quote
