Stevie’s best chance is to get lucky finding a team that is hungry for a goalie. It is the one area where the system might have some assets with relative trade value.

I can't be too hard on the Mantha trade because I thought it was great value at the time. And also because Vrana (just turned 25 when acquired) is the type of guy I was fine with Yzerman picking up, a potential diamond in the rough in his mid-20s who potentially could flourish with a new organization. Like Fabbri (24 when acquired) and Nedeljkovic (25 when acquired). Problem is none of them panned out.

if cossa works out, the trade is a plus.

I don’t see any possibility of a full house cleaning.  That’s just not Chris.

Three likely options are:

1) No change - stay the course with Stevie

2) Horcoff takes over for Stevie

3) Draper takes over for Stevie

Faced with these choices keeping him on for another season is probably the soundest.
