Philly and Embiid could be a teachable moment for the Pistons with Duren.

They felt they had to extend him even with his injury problems instead of losing him for nothing.  Now they are locked into a very old team with an injury plagued star who will rarely play 50% of the games and very little resources to improve the team.

Bad contracts are franchise killers.  Sometimes it's just better to let a guy go even if it's for nothing.
