Deleterious Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago I would 100% take that risk. There is almost no chance he gets an offer on the open market. Quote

The Lakers aren't clearing that much cap. I'm not even sure the Bulls or Nets are dumb enough to make a huge offer to Duren, but if they do then I guess congratulations Jalen Duren, you are a Chicago Bull or a Brooklyn Net! Or we can just match. Either way, those are loosing teams he won't want to go to. The best move would be a S&T to the Pelicans for Murphy and Missi. Maybe expand that to throw in some more assets and get Herb Jones back as well. But they won't do it. Either way, there's really no downside to letting him test the market. But again, they won't. They'll give him 38-42M for 5 years because of "player relations". Trajan is the opposite of Weaver. Where Weaver was happy to make reckless moves and "empty the clip" to the detriment of the team, Trajan is overly conservative and loyal...probably also to the detriment of the team. Quote

Deleterious Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago This would take them out of the running for Duren. I honestly don't think they were ever seriously considering him anyway. Woike is the Lakers beat write for The Athletic. Quote
Deleterious Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago I guess Woike also said Detroit and Atlanta are two teams who might take a swing at Reaves. I agree with Ku on that possibility. Quote
Betrayer Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Sounds like Reaves agent has been putting in a lot of work leading into free agency. Quote
