I mean... I'm no expert here, but this seems like it wouldn't be super easy to falsify. I could see a compliant doc giving a 'back dated' diagnosis. That wouldn't be too hard. But providing a valid, and filled, back dated prescription wouldn't be quite so easy I don't think. I don't think a pharmacy is going to willy-nilly alter their records to show that they handed out a controlled substance to a customer, and even if they did they financial records wouldn't match. These are things that leave an electronic paper-trail that's outside of their ability to easily manipulate. That means they could be investigated, found to be lying... and lying about dispensing a schedule II drug. I can't imagine that that is not without significant criminal penalty risk. Now if it's a case of Jamo providing a doctor's diagnosis but he got the Adderall outside "normal" channels then I think I'd agree that this is almost certainly a falsified doc record and he wasn't legally taking the drugs.

Week Eight: Tennessee Titans (1-5) @ Detroit Lions (5-1)

Well, we did go for it on 4th and inches in OT from the 7 yard line instead of kicking the FG to tie it. Now that's sorta understandable in that you SHOULD be able to make that and then you have 3 chances to win the game with a TD and still are able to kick the FG to tie it (that would give the Titans the chance to win via sudden death). So it seems like that's the right move. But this was still the SOL, not the BNL, so even though a team SHOULD be able to make 4th and inches, we fumbled the snap and didn't get it. -
If Jamo has a valid prescription for Adderall but did not inform the NFL, the NFL might be saying: "We didn't know that, show us the medical records, if it checks out we'll cancel the suspension." This seems unlikely as this would be a pretty clear-cut instance where Jamo would/should appeal. Or the NFL might be saying: "We didn't know that, you need to inform us, the two game suspension is the penalty for not informing us." This also seems unlikely. A two game suspension for failing to report a medical status seems excessive. I could see a fine, but no a suspension. Or the NFL might be saying: "We know you have a prescription, but I don't think it's valid." In this situation I'm assuming the NFL would think Jamo shopped around doctors until he found one willing to diagnose him as having ADHD and need meds for it. If this is the case that's opening a whole can of worms where the NFL is going to start vetting doctors. I'm nearly positive the NFL doesn't want to start do that.

Just put Branch in as WR. He's got the hands for it.

The came up in my youtube feed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cs49p_PNJr4 It's the Lions at Titans game from 2012 that had the crazy 4th qtr where 46 points where scored. Stafford was our QB. Watching these highlights I'm amazed at how bad our defense was then and how... I guess slow is the right word... how slow our offense looked. -
Right but MC is saying the punishment for the "crime" is now 2 games, so he served 4 game on what would now be a 2 game punishment so he kinda/sorta served 2 more games that he should have. His punishment for this "crime" should be time served. 😉

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnF6gP7D5Ic Power Rankings from the NFL: NFC North: Bears: 11 Packers: 6 Vikings: 4 Lions: 3 Nearly all four teams in the top 10. Just amazing. (Ravens were #2 and Chiefs of course at #1.) Edit to add perhaps the best part of that video: Each team gets a little clip of their best play from their game this week. However the Cowboys were on their bye this week so they had to go back another week for their clip. However, that was the game where the Lions just slacked the Cowboys, so they had to go back another week to the Cowboys-Steelers game to find a good play to show. -

Unpopular opinion here, but... I miss when we had mostly 1pm games. 😞 Don't get me wrong: I don't want to go back to those years with inept Lions teams. I know that featured games comes with success. But I do miss when every Sunday afternoon was Lions time. 4:25 ain't too bad, but those night games can be a killer on my old body. I can't do the late nights like I used too and then be ready for work so early in the morning! 🙂 -
I think Jamo is the poster child for the idea that these are young kids who gotta grow up. I don't think Jamo is a bad person... I don't think he engages in activity that's "wrong" or things he's "above the law" or anything like that. I do think he's a little immature and needs to not make impulsive decisions... and I think this is true, to some degree, for MOST guys his age. On the field I see a guy who's learning and improving. I see a guy who is MORE than willing to do the "unsung" part of his job like blocking down field. I do see maybe a bit of immaturity in terms of celebrations or there was a line he said during one of the "mic'd up videos" about him saying no one could catch him because he's faster than everyone... but those are pretty minor things so I don't see an issue with him as a player. Just needs to grow up a little bit off the field and make some better choices imho.

Two possible reasons for this... 1. Det at GB is an late game... starting at 4:25. Are they allowed to flex out of an late afternoon game? 2. Minny is a good team that's playing very well so I'm not surprised the NFL would want to showcase them. They don't have a ton over showcase games, including this SNF, the Vikings have: 1x SNF, 1x MNF, 1x TNF, 1x Sunday late afternoon, 1x TBD, 1x International Game. Compare that with Detroit: 2x SNF, 2x MNF, 1x TNF, 3x Sunday late afternoon, 1x TBD, 1x Thxgiving Day. -

I mean... yes and no. It's okay to be loud, I'm not sure on the obnoxious side of things. I was lurking over in the Vikings sub and I saw someone posted something about their experience. According to the post a bunch of drunk Lions fans heckled him and his family and made sexually suggestive comments to his wife and mother. That's being way too obnoxious imho. And I know every fan base has their losers who get too drunk and take things too far. I know most fans aren't like this. But I don't think we should be afraid to call out our own when they cross the line. Celebrate the Lions absolutely! Cheer as loud as you want too... I freakin' LOVE IT when I hear chants of LET'S GO LIONS or JARED GOFF at away games. That's just AMAZING too me. But don't get opposing fans faces... don't be obnoxious. And if you can't control yourself when your drunk, maybe you shouldn't be in public when your drinking heavily.

Ah, okay, that makes more sense. But I disagree that this is what happened here. Mahomes slowed down and the defender starting slowing down too, but couldn't stop in time. The defender was in front of Mahomes, Mahomes saw that he was running to hard and thought he could get around him... and he could. 1. Defender is in position to get to Mahomes, Mahomes is stopping his run and starts to change speed/direction 2. Defender is still in position to tackle Mahomes 3. Defender is still in position, but has over pursued and... 4. Can't stop in time to get Mahomes who... 5. Slips by the defender If you're contending that the defender slowed down and "eased up" on his approach because he thought Mahomes was going out of bounds, then he should have been in an even better position to stop and still block Mahomes.

Are you saying the pump fake beyond the line of scrimmage?

Week Seven: Detroit Lions (4-1) @ Minnesota Vikings (5-0)

Watching the highlights on Youtube... and I'm reminded of just how much I HATE that Viking horn whenever the Vikings have a good play. And I think the reason I hate it so much is that I think I'd love it that much if I was a Vikings fan. It's a cool sound effect that fits with their team so yeah... I'd love it if I was a Vikings fan... hate it as a Lions fan. -

I 100% get that. If I had that with a bunch of other people I'd be far more interested in watching it live, so I totally understand. -

I honestly don't mind the in-game insertion ads when they are done right. Like during a TO in football or an injury or there's a meeting on the mound in baseball or new batter is coming up... these are "dead" times anyway where there's no action on the field so throw an ad up... pay the bills, just as long as you get back to the game as soon as the action starts. -

Unhinged? No my friend... DVR is the best thing to happen to football since the forward pass. I get an hour of my day back and I don't have to watch ads? Sign me up. Also after the other team gets a lucky play in and goes for a TD...? You know that part where the announcers gush over how wonderful the play was and how they schooled the Lions and replay it 3 or 4 times? Yeah, I get to fast forward over that too. -

Time to see if that story line about the Lions physically beating up teams holds true. -
That's a good point... It an odd one like come-back player of the year. In order to win it you gotta be good, but you also had to have been bad (or hurt) last year.

I my opinion I don't think Holmes is going to go out and spend a lot of capital on a rental. It HAS to be a player who can help now and for the next few years at least. Crobsy could be that player, sure... but: What's the price? Let's say 2 firsts (I honestly think it's gonna cost more than that). Would Crosby give us more value over the next 3-5 years than two first rounds would give us? I tend to think no, not with how Holmes drafts. So then the next question is this: Will Crosby get you a ring in the next 1-3 years that you'll miss over the next 4-6? Do you anticipate the team falling off in terms of the mythical "window of opportunity" and not being a contender? Again, I tend to think no. I would love to see the Lions add to the DE spot, for a reasonable price. But I wouldn't really want them to go all out.
