maybe it's not quite everyone who seems to like them, but anytime someone raves about KISS, it makes no sense to me. every song of theirs I've heard makes me feel like a band with crazy costumes/stage personas ought to have more exciting music to back it up. maybe I'd feel differently if I'd been to some of their shows as a young dude, but I never was, so here we are. also Bob Seger. for me he's just all nope all the time.

I finished up my Blue Rodeo binge the other day and wanted to share one more of their songs because it's awesome. probably their best move ever was adding a pedal steel player to the band after their 3rd album.

same. the only time I had a flu shot before fall 2016 was when the big H1N1 thing was going on 10-12 years ago or whatever. but then in 2016, I had a new employer that did the on-site clinic. I haven't had an office since covid hit, so it's been up to me the past couple years. still haven't done it for this season. I will, though—even though I'm never really around people, I still feel like I should give my immune system something to do.

according to the video description, the power plant was already decommed anyway, so this seems sort of like a "buy 4, get 1 free" type of thing unless there's some other reason the scrub tower shouldn't have come down already. still pretty kickass, in any event.

I don't know anything about Guardians of the Galaxy, but I do know about the Old 97's. this makes it two xmas songs that I actually like.

I can't say that country is really my thing, but I like some country-adjacent stuff, mostly Blue Rodeo and Old 97's. dug this one out the other day—forgot how much I like this song.

that happened at a previous job of mine, but rather than everything breaking when my manager tried to get away, it was everything breaking after I'd gone out of town. my coworkers hated it when I'd leave because they knew they'd be fighting fires and sweeping ashes.

ouch, that's a bummer. and pretty weird, too. doesn't seem to take much to total out an older car. but what's on your side is that the car is still drivable and the airbags didn't go off. if the only problems are the hood and the bumper and not anything in the engine compartment or axles/tie rods/etc, you could be ok. fingers crossed.
