  1. She needs to work on her Fundy Wife voice
  2. Biden could channel his inner Churchill and MAGA's wouldn't be impressed. Trump could sound like PeeWee Herman and they would call it a great speech
  3. Looking forward to the rest of the album in May
  4. Like smoking, some habits are hard to break. Just like that ugly painting that gets handed down generation to generation. Or great great grandma's cranberry salad recipie
  5. It was pre-rebuttal but saw some speculation that Britt may have been on Trump's "short list" for VP candidates. I have a feeling that list is constantly changing, Britt was not MAGA enough for some supporters, but was liked by those who write checks. I've got a feeling she's no longer welcome in Florida
  6. Of course he's not up for re-election until 2028 or so...
  7. There are people that just have a particular party engrained into their DNA. For a lot it goes back to FDR and is handed down generation to generation. For whatever reason the Reagan GOP gene is extremely strong even though it has morphed into Gingrich and Trump versions.
  8. I'm assuming this is a broadcast related position? The vetting process of this particular entity is way too long and there seems to be a lot of bureaucracy to the process. My wife went thru something similar several years ago with multiple interviews with several "department heads". After a "final interview" with the head of the foundation they called her back and wanted to do another round of interviews with the two finalists. In the end she said thanks but no thanks. There were too many red flags. The person who got the job lasted less than a year before moving on...
  9. We’re being “governed” by children and the messes are cheering. Let them all eat cake. Take away their pensions
  10. Just a few points on the "Are you better off" question with a few facts from JVL (Bullwerk) https://plus.thebulwark.com/p/the-definitive-answer-to-the-question?utm_source=substack&publication_id=87281&post_id=142360180&utm_medium=email&utm_content=share&utm_campaign=email-share&triggerShare=true&isFreemail=false&r=45wcm&triedRedirect=true Crime??? In Trump’s 2020, America became a criminal hellscape the likes of which we have never seen. Under Joe Biden, the murder rate has fallen every year—and the drop from 2022 to 2023 is one of the largest declines in the murder rate in American history. And it’s not just murder that’s down: Violent crime is down across the board. One more thing: In 2020, 8,600 American troops were in harm’s way in Afghanistan. Today that number is zero.³
  11. I don't think the former governor/ambassador is actively involved with this. I don't think she'll quash it either https://www.semafor.com/article/03/06/2024/pro-haley-super-pac-relaunches-as-haley-voters-for-biden?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email A super PAC that urged non-Republicans to cast primary votes for Nikki Haley is pivoting to November, urging Haley’s voters to support President Joe Biden. Starting today, Primary Pivot will become Haley Voters for Biden, and urge anyone who supported Haley in a swing state to stick with the president in November. “This is an effort from people who have actually supported Nikki Haley to try to guide as many of them as possible toward the candidate that respects democracy, even if they may disagree with him politically,” said Primary Pivot co-founder Robert Schwartz. In a statement, Primary Pivot said it would focus on Haley voters in states where they could be counted — nearly 300,000 in Michigan, and nearly 250,000 in North Carolina. The super PAC, which started by urging New Hampshire Democrats to temporarily switch their registrations, spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to activate potential Haley voters in South Carolina and Super Tuesday states. There's this
  12. I remember the weekend prior to the shutdown. We had planned a quick trip to Williamsburg to do the pre-drywall walk thru on our house. My wife called and said with everything happening she couldn't make the trip (drive), then booked me on a flight for the afternoon before and returning the next day. I did the walk thru, faced timed with my wife and caught the flight home. DTW was a ghost town. In a few ways we are better off than 3/15 or so. We figured my wife would need to retire since they didn't want folks to work remotely. It opened up several business related possibilities. She's consulting at her pre retirement job as well as picking up opportunities elsewhere. We're much happier here and closer to family. I don't credit any of that to Trump
  13. My Trumpy brother in law...(I assume he voted for Trump twice, unless there was a VaTech football or basketball game on tv) It's a choice between crazy or senile
  14. Now you guyz have done it, I'll never get this out of my head today
  15. With an addendum today.. Most voters don't start paying attention until around Labor Day...but Democrats need to start hammering him starting today, while inviting those not sold on Trump into the fold. Start a major fact check campaign. Hit him hard on his indictments. Go hard on women's rights on rights of immigrants.
  16. From today's JVL This was written before South Carolina...
  17. Mitch has turtled, again
  18. Haley would be wise to just sit this one out and not attempt to pull a Chris Christie if she has any political ambitions in 2026.
  19. Utah's Governor is an interesting dude. As one associate put it there is no one in the state that defines Utah more than Spencer Cox. The guy is the head of the National Governor's Conference. He's theme this year is Disagree Better. He's been going around the country appearing with Democratic governors on the issues. In a different political climate I could see him as a party mover and shaker. This was from about a week ago with Maryland Gov Moore https://www.c-span.org/video/?c5107207/gov-cox-gov-moore-discuss-bipartisanship
  20. For some reason I've been bombarded with texts from candidates from NC, especially the Trump wannabe running for governor (?). I have no clue how they've gotten my information and decided I was a Republican. Probably the same fools that think I have property to sell in Tennessee
