I think Goff is a good system quarterback, when the system breaks down I feel there he has flaws. Fumbles, interceptions, whatever. I'm a bad amateur musician. But I look at the team this way. Goff is Kenny G or a good session player. Like Bill Bergman (You Belong in the City), Mark Rivera (Billy Joel's guy). They are very good but no Mark Turner or Kenny Garrett who are probably the best currently at improvisation. If the Lions think they can draft the next Mark Turner, I say go for it. And in today's NFL you're going to need a QB who is able to improvise on occasion. No knock. I'd just like being prepared in case of emergency. We just saw in the playoffs what happens if your QB goes down. SF had it happen in their most important game of the season.

I don't think anybody has ever said he's not good enough after last season. My reasoning is I'd rather have someone who is a capable replacement if heaven forbid someone hits him the wrong way (see Drew Bledsoe, Joe Theisman, last year's 49ers) and upsets a promising season or to or three. Right now the Lions have no backup...and if you can sign promising guy on a rookie contract and sit him for a year or two good. You then have options come year three or four. I was always taught redundancy is a good thing.

Take a look at the history of Lions QB's....Kitna was on the Lions QB the year after Rogers was drafted. If you drafted Rogers to replace Harrington and if lightning struck you wouldn't have needed the other Lions QB's I've noted. I have a feeling from a cost and technical standpoint it would not be feasible for streamers to even entertain such an idea at this time. But then I'm spitballing

The streamers already have their national contract. YouTube and MLB are currently arguing over a contract and is not carrying the network at the moment

It would be feasible IF there was another option. As it stands now, unless I'm wrong, Bally's is the only sports network in the region. You could assume the Tigers/Wings and possibly Pistons could attempt to set up their own enterprise. That would be costly and not possible to create over night. The other option could possibly do it the old fashion way and set up a network of local stations across the region. I think that would be a near impossible sell unless you put it on one of the major stations sub channel and make deals with local Cale companies. That's not going to happen before opening day. I also can't imagine the technical cost to do that

I'm just to cheap to spend $25 a month for something that I'd watch a couple times a week on top of the other streaming services.

To me the whole Bally/Sinclair/??? issue is # who has the broadcast rights if the current holder is unable to deliver on the contract. I would assume they would revert back to the Tigers or any other team who may be affected. It's then the team's prerogative to assign or sell the rights to another entity. (With the consent of MLB). It would also probably be up to MLB or the team to strike a deal with cable operators in the region (along with satellite providers) to carry the broadcasts. The fact that Sinclair pulled this move as late as they did makes me believe something is fishy Hunt Valley, MD. (Home base for Sinclair)

I would assume all stadiums already have technical crews in place with the exception of the announcing crew and possibly a producer for TV games. Since both teams take the same camera feed, usually. It makes no sense shipping technical equipment and trucks cross country all the time. The NFL has been doing that for years. Meanwhile some of us out of market fans are waiting anxiously to see if TMobile is offering us free MLB again this year.

My bigger concern here would be to larger companies who would tend to use underage kids in places where they don't belong, factories and such. If I remember correctly a work permit was not that difficult to get. It does put restrictions on number of hours and length of "shift" an under age person could work. I once hired a 16 year old kid at a radio station where I was the program director. He was great for the overnight shift. I just needed to have someone relieve him at 4 AM to comply with regs

I remember when I was 14, 15 or so my dad had a landscaping business in conjunction to the small nursery and florist business he ran. I would go out during the Summer. OSHA laws prohibited me from running the mower or power tools. I was regulated to cleaning up after the bush trimming and pulling weeds. I had a couple of friends who lived on a farm and would help out during hay season. We weren't allowed to drive the tractor but I could see no issue loading bales on the wagon. (This was long before I discovered round bales😉) I also remember restrictions when I was an ast mgr at an Arby's. You had to be over 16 (???) to run the slicer and strain fry grease.

I remember the days of a different minimum wage for minors than for adults. I'd be willing to wage they would also end the restrictions on kids under 18 working "hazardous" jobs...
