I would've liked to have taken a shot with Gage Wood however... He could make an MLB bullpen before the end of the year... and I wouldn't have minded that being with Detroit. He still has starter upside (no hitter 19K's his last start...); but he could begin his MLB career in the bullpen and I wouldn't shed any tears over that... But alas... Dombrowski and his Phillies are taking that shot...

Well... Hmmm... Interesting... Check back in 4 years or so it looks like... So far.

They're saying he wasn't even 2nd round consideration until late this year... I think the money will be much higher than he expected... I'm certain they've had conversations with him and his family on this already... and he'll sign for quite a bit under slot... Just guessing...

I think we all will forget about this draft for 4 years and then wake up to see what surprises crop up... if any.

If Holland turns himself INTO Herb Jones 2.0 then that is a HUGE plus for the Pistons...

Which is why I believe Harris targets players who are NOT huge swing and miss... To avoid those cold as Antartica streaks...

Question: What would it cost to get Aroldis Chapman? Second question: Harris finds a cost he is OK with in a trade for: Paul Skenes? Joe Ryan? Or Jacob DeGrom? And what is the cost?

Plus if Jung or Anderson or Lee is moved for reliever help at the deadline Ibanez is the backup plan B. Errr... Plan J?

Or they could REALLY want to tank this year and run out Sasser and Fears as their PG's. Just a thought...

I don't know... Sasser is not worth much if Alvarado is a better PG (both defensive and play-making and assist-to-turnover ratio) and Chaz Lanier turns out to be a better SG/ 3-pt shooter... which I think he is. Or will be... Holland becomes superfluous with Herb Jones. So I think we're trading extra parts... IMO. The first rounder hopefully for the next several years will be in the 20's... so, hopefully, no lottery protection required. And 2nd rounders are "fungible". The biggest bet is on Alvarado being good enough as the backup PG. I don't think we could ask/get a backup big in the deal (sure, I would love to add Missi... and give them Paul Reed!!!) But I don't think that's happening. There might be some overpay in there... but I don't think it's huge.
