  1. He's a very arrogant guy who failed to self-assess his strengths and weaknesses.
  2. I'm cool with letting the snake eaters do the NIPF priority missions assigned by the national command authority after a process of evaluation guided by the professionals and steered by the policy-makers. Having rapping Elmer Gantries, elected former sex workers and cross-fit gym owners decide it on a stage for applause is no way to run a railroad.
  3. Oh for real. The entire thing about the stake in their turf and knocking Devin Bush over.
  4. All Michigan needs to do is slip a little bit, have a scandal, have terrible leadership in the AD and school presidency and we could have a tumble. The gravity supports Michigan but the ability of the M front offices to get in their own way is robust. I definitely want them to maintain standards of academics. I do not want them to go Ivy League or devote all their energies to making cricket happen.
  5. The really scary thing is that to get anything close to the level of play to beat current Michigan, they will need to power up the hate machine. With Tucker, that machine resulted in a level of thuggery that was a massive trauma for MSU.
  6. Man, how screwed are the ones who stay?
  7. that should result in me selling all Ford shares and shorting that stock until BFJ was dead.
  8. Tuck going
  9. I endured most of SOL directly. I remember sleepless nights. I have all the scar tissue. Matt Millen shouldn't be able to work in football after what he did to the Lions though.
  10. Screw it, i'll play: I'd say there was still a glimmer of hope going into Matt Millen's tenure.
  11. why are you guys relitigating the badness of the last 30 years?
  12. This is what China has right now with their internal controls. Once you have someone imposing his version of the truth on the public square, the latest innovations in AI and machine learning as well as the brute force of quantum computing will allow the oligarchic asshole who has taken control greater and greater control over speech in all forms. Once he starts to kill off critical thought from media companies --both figuratively and literally (e.g., Putin's Russia), to espouse anything like dissenting thought will be punishable by death. Don't think techbros like Elon are not salivating at the prospect of this. So, fight him here in 2024 and any asshole like him.
  13. This feels like a big story that won’t surprise but will impact many
  14. I'm not going to hold my breath an on anything involving Xi's ambitions but seeing that Europe has basically curtailed all of the BRI joint projects since 2020.
  15. The political price she would have paid allowing China to build a spy base in Michigan would be off the charts.
  16. This is a good development. We can build batteries and cars without the PRC. This was something I felt would bite Ford and the Gov in the ass if pursued without regard to the National Security implications. https://www.freep.com/story/news/local/2023/09/25/ford-marshall-project/70964122007/
  17. Ok, ok...its hyper-spectral criminality.
  18. Apparently a man under several indictments across multiple jurisdictions was in the Palmetto State Armory in South Carolina today and was talking about buying a gun. I hope the sales people warned him that attempting to purchase was a violation of his bail conditions.
  19. Wrong thread. This should be in the gun crimes thread.
  20. Also, i'm happy that Clemson's holier than thou routine is falling by the wayside.
  21. positive development
  22. Notre Dame played with only 10 men on the field on the last two defensive snaps?! That's just reckless.
