  1. Spent the afternoon at a pumpkin patch this afternoon with my family. Every time the Lions scored a touchdown, I asked my wife and daughter to move seven more pumpkins into the background for another picture. The Lions kept them busy.
  2. The throw from McCauliffe clearly beat Hendricks to the bag by a step, but the announcer thinks the ump was right to say Cash was off the bag. Doesn't look like it here. 1:30-1:55 mark. On the radio, you can hear Ray Lane's call of that play at 1:00:20 of the bottom clip.
  3. The 1981 strike season was memorable for me. I was 14 and really looking forward to baseball every day. I was too young to remember 1972 so couldn't believe they would go on strike. Blew a hole in my summer. But when they came back it was a rush to finish, with 8 teams making the playoffs that year, which was a lot at the time. Gibby's walkoff homer in August was as excited as I've ever heard George & Al (Gibby's at bat starts at the 2:20 mark of the "moments to remember" clip below). The race with the Brewers to win the AL East 2nd Half was my experience with the Tigers being in contention of any kind. It came down to the final weekend and I still remember the Brewers' wild celebration when they eliminated the Tigers.
  4. Yes, not sure what I was thinking, I heard Talbot's name 100 times.
  5. Larkin beats Nyquist for an ENG. 3-0 final!
  6. Wings up 2-0 with 5 minutes to go after Copp’s goal earlier in the 3rd period. If the Wings can close this out it would be a really encouraging bounce back.
  7. 1-0 after 2. Glad to see the goals against down after the opening night fiasco.
  8. Compher tips in the opening goal a minute into the 2nd period. 1-0 Wings, Lyon in net.
  9. Chasfh likely walked into the theatre during a scoreless tie, and at some point soon will be walking out into the glare of daylight where the 7-3 reality will hit him in the face.
  10. Disappointed but not crushed. Thursday morning I felt the Tigers had a great chance of winning this series and then giving the Yankees a scare. But since then has had the feeling of the bubble finally bursting. Even with a win today, Yankees likely would have handled them comfortably. But picked off one target at a time - finished over .500, made the playoffs, won a playoff round, hosted playoff games, got a home win for the fans after a decade away.
  11. Guardians’ radio announcer says “eliminating the Tigers was an arduous journey just because of how well and how relentless the Tigers have been”.
  12. The Tigers emptied the tank after weeks of must wins and just ran out of gas one game short of the ALCS.
  13. 6-3 mid 8th. I really can see the Tigers scoring 2 runs in the 9th. But 3 is too much to ask.
  14. Let’s get a couple of runs this inning and make Clase throw a lot of pitches so the Guardians have to bring in Charlie Sheen for the 9th.
  15. Oh crap this 6th run hurts. I felt almost ok at 5-3. That’s why I wanted at least a 7th inning from Skubal.
  16. He is like the quintessential Minnesota Twins of the 2000s.
  17. Good (in a way). Top of the 9th to the top of order would be his 2nd innings so not necessarily lights out.
  18. Except for Clase, they’ve already burned through their best relievers and the Tigers still have 8 more outs.
  19. Back in it! 5-3, 1 out, runner on 2nd. We just need a graphic to flash that shows the Tigers’ win probability after the grand slam was 0.2%.
  20. I was just about to reply to your original post, saying that.
  21. Tie game. Bases still loaded. Still only one out.
  22. Huge moment now. 2 on 1 out with Fry and Ramirez coming up.
