  1. Back to back penalty kills required. 2 minutes down, 2 minutes to go.
  2. Wings come out flying the first 30 seconds against the Kings
  3. If he time travels back to 1984 he's going to hear it from me. Who could trust the team being in the hands or skates of a kid named Why-zerman with pretty boy hair.
  4. F the Memphis Grizzles.
  5. Quinn Hughes? Small potatoes.
  6. Nor were the Canucks an unstoppable juggernaut with Hughes (plus EP+Boeser+Hronek)
  7. I wouldn't have included Edvinsson in a deal. I know the story is that a potential Wings-Canucks deal broke down over Edvinsson, but you'd have to think there are other options that would have been seriously considered by both sides. For example, what about MBN, Carter Bear and this year's 1st? I would have done that and I think the Canucks could sell that to their fans. Or Kasper, Bear and next year's first. Or Bear, this year's 1st and next year's 1st. Basically, I feel Hughes is worth three 1sts if you think (even if you don't know 100%) you can re-sign him and I think the Wings could have. Wanting to play with his brothers is a bit overblown. Only NJ even if you could now in the same conference with him at least? Only NJ even if your new team is in the same state where you went to school? Only NJ even if the Wings win playoff rounds the next two seasons while the Devils miss the playoffs? Only NJ even if you enjoy seeing your brothers at Thanksgiving and Christmas but would get under each other's skin if you see them day in day out?
  8. That’s 3 home games this week, 2 road games next week. Does it mean they expect him to be back immediately after the break once games resume?
  9. Last March the Leafs traded a conditional 2026 1st rounder, a 2025 4th and some kid named Fraser Minten in exchange for defenseman Brando Carlo. Was considered by many pundits at the time to be a strong pickup for the Leafs. Minten was a 2nd round pick by the Leafs in 2022 and had picked up 4 points in 19 NHL games in parts of two seasons. This year Minten has broken out with 13G 12A 25pts in 52 games for Boston. https://www.nhl.com/news/boston-bruins-trade-brandon-carlo-to-toronto-maple-leafs#:~:text=Brandon Carlo was traded to,in the 2025 NHL Draft.
  10. I’m not a Lions fan by choice, I was born into it. Moved to Vancouver 33 years ago. Some seasons up to 10% of Seahawks season ticket holders are Canadian. A couple of guys with whom I went to high school and who settled out here - one in Vancovuer, one in Seattle - made the jump from the Lions to the Seahawks. I thought of it but couldn’t take the leap. Today the Seahawks made their 4th Super Bowl, having won one already and likely will be solid favorites in this one.
  11. Two massive mistakes in the 3rd quarter. Rams returner stumbles and muffs a punt, Seahawks get the ball inside the 15, score a TD on the next play. A few series later, the Rams are down 11 and stopped at midfield for a 4th and 12 but a bonehead taunting penalty gives them a 1st down. Stafford throws a TD on next play. About to be 31-27.
  12. That was a bad game. Felt more like two 7-6 teams going at it in week 14, not a conference championship game.
  13. Kasper had 6 points in his first 47 games this season. He has picked up 6 more in his past 5 games. So 5-7-12 in 52GP for the season to date.
  14. Successful 2-0-1 road trip.
  15. Wings slowly started to asset control in the 3rd. 5-1 Wings late.
  16. After an ineffective power play, the Wings tie it soon after on a goalmouth scramble.
  17. The Wings need to make sure tonight against the Jets isn't a letdown game. The Wings played well the 10-15 minutes but were back in their heels closer to the end of the period. 0-0 after 1.
  18. By points percentage ranking, Atlantic division teams are #2 (Tampa), #5 (Detroit), #8 (Buffalo), #9 (Montreal), #11 (Boston), #14 (Florida) and #16 (Toronto). So 4 of the top 10, 5 of the top 11, and 7 of the NHL top half.
  19. With today's 5-0 shutout win over NYI, the Sabres are now tied with Montreal in points for 3rd in the Atlantic, actually ahead of them in standings on the tiebreaker. https://www.nhl.com/standings/2026-01-24/division
  20. Edvinsson’s injury doesn’t appear to be serious, might keep him out of tomorrow’s game in Winnipeg.
