So three times farily recently - down 3 to Minnesota, down 7 to Philly, down 7 to LA Rams - the Lions kicked off with around 2 minutes to go asking the defense to make a stop to get the ball back to tie. Failed each time.
I don’t hate the play call up of a throw up the middle but you need to go down 2 seconds earlier than they did. Got it to the 40 and no more plays, but could have got to the 35 and had time to heave one up.
54 second 3 and out. Nothing like giving the Rams possession at midfield against defense. Will be a miracle if hold them to a FG here. And as I type, already down to the Lions’ 11.
1st and goal wouldn’t have been an automatic TD, the way the Rams have been snapping it today and if the God forbid the refs decided to call offensive holding on the Rams for once.
Listening to the Canucks’ press conference yesterday, their conclusion by this fall that Hughes was 100% not going to sign with them was due in large part to Hughes wanting to be back east to be close to his brothers. So question is whether that means only NJ or whether Detroit would be close enough. I like my own brother very much but unless I have a chance to work for the same company as him I couldn’t care less whether he is one province over or three provinces over.
