  1. Can the Oilers win with Connor Ingram in net? 4 goals on 22 shots tonight after 2 periods. Granted, one came on a terrible turnover by McDavid on a powerplay, but still.
  2. EP would pass a physical but he'd fail a mental. I really want nothing to do with Petersson in the salary cap era. I'd much rather give up way more assets for 2 years of Auston Matthews.
  3. As an amusing sidenote, since Christmas I've read the Pistons forum consistently but don't know enough to contribute. But for the past couple of months I've been thinking to myself, that Buddha, does he really need to be so skeptical about Duren and the Pistons' offense beyond Cade and how play will tighten up in the playoffs. And then Game 1 hit, ha. Maybe Buddha really is a wise man ...
  4. So is there any chance the Wings actually have something in goalie Michal Postava? I know nothing about him, other than his stat line, but as long as one of the Grand Rapids goalie is backing up Gibson next season I don’t care which one it is, whoever is best qualified. Postava is only 9 months older than Cossa. Sure, he was signed as an undrafted free agent and Cossa was #15 overall, but it’s like being concerned about what was someone’s SAT score when they’re now 5 years into their business career.
  5. This was a good night of hockey. Carolina wins in 2OT. Dallas hangs on over Minnesota. Edmonton scores with 2 minutes to go to beat. Anaheim. Penguins lose.
  6. Wow, Carolina had an apparent winning goal in OT waved off for offside. But awarded a penalty shot on same play. Which Ullmark stopped from Martinhook
  7. I can do a 35s 200m, barely. I would have to be full out to even approach a 70s 400m and likely would fail. No way I can do a 2:20 800m. So if I sprinted I might have a chance of keeping up with the leaders for the first 1 minute out of a 121 minute race, lol.
  8. And Montreal beat Tampa with a 5th rounder from the draft before Cossa’s in net.
  9. Dingler is making a bid for the All Star Game.
  10. Tigers win! 3-way tie for 1st atop the AL Central, with Minnesota and Cleveland and Detroit all 11-10 on the season.
  11. Darn. Did I shave my legs for this?
  12. Jim Rutherford just admitted the Canucks tanked hard. “It is always difficult when you have a bad season but this one was on purpose. It is about time the Canucks have luck in getting a high pick”. I mean, we all knew, but aren’t you at least supposed to pretend?
  13. Bummer. He was playing PCL AAA for Vancouver when we first moved to Vancouver, saw him play here a few games.
  14. Yep, look how the Tampa found and brought in this season's top 2-4 scorers, post-Yzerman. - Jake Guentzel, C. Signed him two years ago as a 29 year free agent coming off a 30G 77 Pt season. 7 x $9mm. Has produced 80 and 88 pt seasons with Tampa, both around the 40 goal mark. - Brandon Hagel, LW. Acquired him four years ago as a 23 year old at the trade deadline. Gave up quite a bit, two 1st rounders (18 and 19 overall). Two cheap years then a contract extension of 8 x $6.5mm. 90 pts last year, 74 pts this year. - Darren Raddysh, D. Had been undrafted, Tampa signed him to a 1 year deal five years ago as a 25 year old. 70 points this season.
  15. The Canucks need to hire Roberto Luongo as GM and bring in Kevin Bieksa, Henrik Sedin and Todd Bertuzzi as its drafting & pro scouting team.
  16. I haven’t run Boston. I ran qualifying times in the ‘80s but never got around to it and seemed like I had endless time to do so. Then life happened and by the time I got back into marathons starting around 2009 my times had slipped and then I shifted to trails/ultras. Have to admit though, if I could qualify I would love to run Boston. My sister ran it, is glad to do it, but like tigers337’s comment the point to point nature of the course made buses as much of an effort as the run. No interest in other majors though. Chicago was worst experience of my 30 or so marathons/ultras because of having to pick through thousands of people who had placed themselves in faster corrals than they should have. In the mid-80s there used to an Emily & Pooh 10k that ended on the Tiger Stadium warning track. Did that a couple of times then sat in the bleachers in the afternoon.
  17. 8-1 brings the Wings’ final goal differential to minus 17.
  18. 7-1. They should have just defaulted.
  19. Keith Gave isn’t holding back these days.
