  1. There is a roughly equal chance of me later being made to look stupid for thinking this tweet is fake or for thinking it is true
  2. 9 days ago.
  3. Kasper. But in his his 4th season post-draft (2022, #8 overall) and with 3G 1A in 30 games, I bet his value has dropped to a high 2nd rounder. Even Danielson (2023, #9 overall) is probably seen as a mid-1st rounder value now.
  4. Sherwood may be the Canucks' best player after Hughes, strange but true. Led them in hits last season while putting up 40 points, has 12 goals so far this year. Given that he's a 30 year old journeyman, kinduv depressing for Canucks fans.
  5. I would trade ASP and Danielson +++ for Quinn Hughes.
  6. Per Wikipedia, here are the records of CFL teams playing Thanksgiving games on the 2nd Monday in October.
  7. It was odd. Like others have noted the Canucks did seem to have a lot of chances with Gibson making a lot of good saves, but maybe I'm so jaundiced given how badly the Canucks have been dumped on by fans and media here, as I never really expected the Canucks to convert those chances. I never felt uncomfortable for the Wings. Even though the Wings got decisively outshot, I still felt the Wings were clearly the better team.
  8. I don't think the Lions will beat the Rams in LA. But if the Lions do beat the Rams and win out to finish 12-5, the #2 seed is in play, even the #1 seed/bye. If the Lions finish 12-5, they are guaranteed to finish ahead of the NFC South champion and ahead of the Bears. - to win the NFC North, would need the Packers to finish no better than 2-2 in its final four games (@Broncos, @Bears, vs Ravens, @Vikings). Very possible. - to finish ahead of the NFC East champion, would need the Eagles to lose one its four remaining games (vs Raiders, @ Commanders, @Bills, @Commanders). That's an easy schedule but Eagles likely will be underdogs for @Bills Boom, that's the #2 seed. #1 seed is more of a stretch.
  9. A Gibson shutout?! 4-0 final.
  10. 4-0 with Larkin’s ENG. Still 4 minutes to go, but through 56 minutes looking like the most routine Red Wings’ win you’ll ever see.
  11. The Canucks might be the worst team in the NHL. Let’s hope they don’t make me eat my words in the 3rd.
  12. Wings would move into 1st in the Atlantic with a win in Vancouver tonight. I’m not in attendance, am out of town. Wings lead 1-0 late in the 2nd on a JVR goal.
  13. Apart from Colorado and Dallas at the top and perhaps Calgary and Vancouver at the bottom, doesn’t it seem like the whole league is the mushy middle this year?
  14. I’m a bit of a fish out of the water as I follow the Pistons less closely than the other three Detroit teams, but I’m at the game tonight to check out this 18-5 thing.
  15. Wings hang on for the 5-4 win.
  16. They’re 2 games behind Chicago with 5 to play. A win at Chicago at the end of season would give the Lions the tiebreaker and knock 1 game off the 2 game deficit. They would need to make up 1 game in the other 4 weeks. They’re 1.5 games behind GB not 2. They need to make up 2 games in 5 games and don’t need to worry about tiebreakers. They are 1 game behind SF. Could make up 2 games in 5 games on them. Might be best to root for Chicago the next 4 weeks - have them beat GB twice and SF once.
  17. My likelihoods in order 3-2 4-1 2-3 1-4 5-0 0-5
  18. They’re saying he already had control when that same foot was down a moment earlier. So the step when he was on the chalk wasn’t needed.
  19. Upheld. Not sure how you can say that was control when the foot was down the first time.
  20. Is this year’s offense as decimated by injuries as last year’s defense?
  21. Wings dominated the last few minutes, gave it a good shot but fall 4-3 in Jersey.
