  1. With this defense, are there are any sure thing games left on the schedule?
  2. I’m eating breakfast in a bar at 10am local time but this still likes watching PAC 12 After Dark.
  3. It would be nice if I could leave the Lions defense alone for even a few plays without them wrecking things. From the time it took to walk from my car into the bar …
  4. Back in the playoff mix
  5. I wonder if it's too early to start hoping that the Devils are the 2022-2023 playoff team vulnerable to maybe missing this season. 4-0 final!
  6. Let's get Lyon the shutout. 2 minutes to go.
  7. Wings looking good. 4-0 Wings after 2. No trouble on a late penalty kill that I was concerned might let Jersey back into the game.
  8. Big 1st period! Need the two points badly tonight.
  9. In such a scenario, I could see them going 1 Michigan 2 Washington 3 Alabama 4 Georgia. It would be controversial, but the Florida St injury, Georgia being 2-time defending national champion, and the potential for a Bama-Georgia rematch in championship game would give the committee enough cover to do so.
  10. Yeah, weird timing, a momentum killer smack dab in the middle of November. Hosts NJ tomorrow, currently sitting just outside of a playoff spot.
  11. Three former Tigers on this year's Hall of Fame ballot. V-Mart (first year), Torii Hunter, and Gary Sheffield (final year). https://www.mlb.com/news/2024-hall-of-fame-ballot-released
  12. The ideal path would be the Lions getting the #1 seed and the three division winners holding serve in the first round, leaving the Lions with a home game vs New Orleans or Tampa or Atlanta to advance to the conference championship game the Lions would host. Of course that would depend on the NFC South winner "upsetting" the top wildcard team in the opening round.
  13. I think if the Lions get the #2 seed the likeliest 1st round matchup would be Seattle. Half a game up on #7 seed Minnesota at the moment but with a brutal schedule coming up. A win Thursday would virtually clinch an actual playoff spot for the Lions without Detroit having to win another game. Any team that could knock them out of the wildcard is at 4-6 and the Lions have already beaten a few of them - Tampa, Atlanta and Green Bay.
  14. Well, the #2 seed would still be nice. Massive KC drops on 2nd and 4th downs preserve the Eagles’ comeback win.
  15. Every team has injuries, but man, the Lions' defense would look different with Houston, Mosely and CJ all making contributions.
  16. A big bust, but not even as big of a bust as the guy picked right after him in the draft, Trey Lance.
  17. Rich Eisen pointed out that if the Eagles and Lions end up tied for the #1 seed, the first tiebreaker is not conference record but rather record against common opponents: KC, Seattle, Tampa, Dallas and Minnesota. The Lions and Eagles have both beaten Tampa already, so that's a wash. The Lions have defeated KC and lost to Seattle, the Eagles' will play KC and Seattle on December 17. The Eagles already have a win against Minnesota and a win against Dallas. So by count, the Lions are 2-1 with 3 games left (2x Minnesota, Dallas) while the Eagles are 3-0 with with 3 games left (KC, Seattle, Dallas). Lions-Niners common opponents in 2023 are Dallas, Minnesota, Tampa, Seattle and Baltimore. EDIT: Eisen might be wrong. From NFL.com. The Eagles conference record is 6-0 and still will be after tonight's game, while the Lions and SF are both at 5-1. Two Clubs Head-to-head, if applicable. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four. Strength of victory. Strength of schedule. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
  18. Is it too much to ask for the Lions to not only win on Thursday but win decisively? Can’t complain about the record of course, but I don’t feel as good about the Lions’ strength as I did a month ago. The past four games have been a blowout loss to Baltimore (F), an easy but mistake-filled win over the Raiders (C+), a nail biter at the Chargers when our defense got trashed (B-) and a horrific 56 minutes at home to the lowly Bears (D+). I’m greedy and want to see the Lions dominate on both offense and defense against the Packers and win by 20.
  19. Christmas Eve. We were visiting the in-laws in Taipei so I ducked out in the middle of the night local time and listened to it at an all-night Internet cafe surrounded by gamers in their pods.
  20. I’d really like the Lions to have it wrapped up prior to the final 3 games. I could see them losing @Minnesota and @Dallas so that it comes down to the final game at home to Minnesota. Too many lingering memories of the horror of the final game of 1981 to want it to come to that. Young ones can go to the 2:11:45 of this clip, if you dare, to see the play when a generation of then-teens like me became truly Lionized.
  21. 3 pm ET today I expected the division lead to be down to 1/2 a game by the end of the night.
  22. What a great day! 2 1/2 game division lead Dobbs did nothing in the 4th quarter
  23. Ok, a TD will do. But better get the 2 pt conversion.
  24. Run it on 1st down here.
