Habs had a 5 on 3 for a minute and the Wings killed it off without any danger.

Montreal cuts into the Wings’ 3-goal lead but DeBrincat gets one back. 4-2 midway through 2nd.

If Florida St and Michigan wins, there are a couple of ways the committee could handle it. Bypass FSU and put Alabama and Texas both in as better teams. Or put Georgia in and leave out Texas and Alabama. Those three all would be 12-1. Two of them would be conference champs who were #7 and #8 in latest rankings, the other would be two-time defending champs who were #1 in latest rankings. Hard for Alabama to complain about missing out to one team they beat by 3 when they lost to the other team by 10 at home. Ohio St is completely dead Washington is in Texas and Alabama passed them today Georgia is still ahead of them That is not even considering Michigan or Florida St The Buckeyes will be #7 or -#8

Tampa lost 8-1 to Dallas today. Their record drops to 10-10-5 for 25 points, with a minus 10 goal differential. So 2 points behind the Wings and the Wings have 3 games in hand. This after Tampa got only 98 points last season and were knocked out in the opening round of the playoffs. I don’t think we need to pencil in the Bolts as playoff automatics.

The committee wil! be praying for a FSU or Michigan loss.

Hell, after this Texas blowout, if Alabama beats Georgia, FSU wins decisively but Michigan only wins unimpressively against Iowa, maybe Sankey will use Pettiti's own words to argue that Michigan is the odd team out. Michigan cheated, biggest scandal in history of college football, blatant disregard of sportsmanship, threatens the integrity of the sport, urgent action needed to be taken and still needs to be taken, blah blah blah, postseason ban must be implemented immediately! ESPN would be pushing that narrative by midnight today.

Wings were 6-4-2 in November. But it seemed solid and sustainable. I feel better about the team than they did a month ago.

I would have declined that penalty. 2nd and 5 with the clock stopped. Instead of 1st and 20 with the clock stopped. The time is more important to Oregon than the yards.
-
10 point lead and you let the other team go 75 yards in 30 seconds. What a joke.
-
Oregon has all 3 of its timeouts. If this is an Oregon TD, Washington will need to get a 1sr down when they get the ball back. This was pathetic by the Huskies.
-
Washington on the verge. Up 10 with under 3 to go. They’re this year’s TCU.
-
Washington back in front, 27-24. I much prefer the Michigan-Ohio St style of game of last weekend. Even though this isn’t really that much more high scoring.

Not sure if still current, but … https://collegefootballplayoff.com/sports/2016/10/24/selection-committee-protocol

Oregon is playing horrible defense. Do they think this is touch football?

All Washington so far. Need to put points up while they have the momentum

Weird thing about the Leafs is how few regulation wins they have. At 5, they are tied with Chicago and S.J. for next to last in the NHL for wins after 60 minutes. Only Montreal with 4 has fewer. Even their ROWs of 8 are better than only 4 teams in the NHL. The Wings’ goal differential of +17 is 3rd in the East behind only Boston +19 and NYR +18. The Leafs are +3.

I have no idea in which order Lalonde considers our three goalies to be these days.

Really good defending by the Rangers at the end. Or perhaps a function of the Wings' anemic PP. In any event, 6 on 4 for over a minute, had the puck the whole time, but no great chances created or developed.
