Five 10-win seasons for Harbaugh now and if they win next week will mean he has averaged 10 wins in his seven non-Covid seasons. So far: 12-2, 10-0, 10-3, 10-3, 10-3, 9-4, 8-5, (2-4).

The closing line was -30.5 I believe, which might explain why some in the crowd cared that Moody made that late kick. 34-3.

Mighty UConn took down AP #19 Liberty today.
-
Tennessee had a 3rd quarter today like Michigan had last week. LSU on the other hand …

7-2. If this leads to a 3-game winning streak like the Buffalo loss did, then a price I will pay.

Sucks for Luff. Trying to make a name for himself for the Wings and a dirty play knocks him out for 2-3 months. https://www.nhl.com/news/matt-luff-out-10-12-weeks-for-red-wings-after-slafkovsky-hit/c-337395472

Bummer, two quick goals by the Rangers have broken open a tie game. 4-2 Rangers with 13 minutes to go. Update: make that 3 quick goals. 5-2 Rangers. Update again: make that 4 quick goals (2min 56s). 6-2 Rangers.

A rare Veleno goal! Berggren with an assist. 1-1 after 1 vs the Rangers.

Play a tough early season opponent, sure. Lose, that's Ok. Just don't lose by 46 frickin' points.

UNC would not get in ahead of Tennessee, the OSU/Michigan loser, or a one-loss PAC championship game winner. They'd need to Tennessee to lose in the next 3 weeks, the OSU/Michigan loser to have lost in the next 2 weeks, and the top PAC teams to all have 2 losses. I don't think Clemson, if they recover to win the ACC, beats out Tennessee or a one-loss PAC champion. So many are picking Texas to win this weekend, that if TCU pulls the "upset" I can see them being placed at #3 next week ahead of Michigan.

Pretty much squandered that the PP, a Soderblom penalty cut into it, so now onto OT. Wings have dominated most of the game.
-
I’ll-timed boarding penalty by Montreal puts the Wings on a 5- minute powerplay that will use up most of regulation.

Remember way back when we were all worried about Raymond? Another goal tonight, ties it versus the Habs midway thought the 3rd.

Scored tonight against the Habs.

https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/34981606/georgia-claims-top-spot-cfp-rankings-emphatic-win Georgia took over the top spot in the College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings released Tuesday night, after its impressive 27-13 win over previous No. 1 Tennessee last weekend. Meanwhile, TCU jumped three spots into the No. 4 spot headed into its big Saturday showdown at No. 18 Texas. Ohio State is No. 2 and Michigan is No. 3.

Yes, a fair bit of good news in here. https://detroithockeynow.com/2022/11/08/tyler-bertuzzi-jake-walman-rejoining-detroit-red-wings-west-coast-road-trip-oskar-sundqvist-maybe-thursday/ “(Oskar) Sundqvist is day to day,” Detroit coach Derek Lalonde said. “Bert,we’re hoping to see on the West Coast trip. Maybe that 7-10 day range. I’d put Walman in that same 7-to-10. (Filip Zadina) is lower body, 6-8 weeks. Obviously not positive but a little more optimistic than we originally thought. (Robby Fabbri) and (Mark) Pysyk are still in that Jan. 1 range.”

The weak OOC is insulting to home game fans and, yes, it is one factor in the weak strength of schedule. But so is Iowa and Michigan State sucking so much this year. Looking at this schedule in January, I figured Michigan had a 50/50 chance of being undefeated going into Columbus. By late September, it was pretty clear that anything less than 11-0 going into Columbus would not be acceptable.
-
Ease of victory means nothing? Michigan has won every game but one by 13 points or more. 6 of TCU's last 7 games have been decided by 10 points of less. USC is coming off of 8 point and 7 points win over dismal Arizona and Cal in back to back weeks.
-
I’d be fine with OSU-Michigan being effectively a playoff game, as the winner will enjoy knocking the other team out for the year and not have to play again in a few weeks. But my CFP prediction after all shakes out is: Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee, Michigan. I think Ole Miss, Clemson, North Carolina, Oregon, USC, UCLA and yes even TCU will all get to 2-losses by the time all is said and done.

Week Nine: Green Bay Packers (3-5) @ Detroit Lions (1-6)
lordstanley replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
So: a) which one of you is the bald dude; and b) take any good pics you'd like to post here? Don't look at me, I was 2500 miles from Ford Field yesterday. -
I will keep modest expectations for Fabbri upon his return from injury, but would be nice to get him back in January. https://detroithockeynow.com/2022/11/03/robby-fabbri-rehab-detroit-red-wings-january-return/

On pace for 109 pts through about the first 1/7 of the season. Of course they won’t keep up that pace and it was pretty down on them after Buffalo, but nice to bank points early.
-
I would‘t even call it a steal. From what I saw, about half the game off and on, the Wings surprisingly were the Rangers’ equal. Halak had to make some big saves. In the last few minutes of regulation, the Wings looked like the team more likely to score.

I hate that those types of reviews are even initiated. Borderline offsides on a 2 on 1, fine, but not when play continues with passes for another 20 seconds. Goal stands, that’s the main thing.
