  1. I don't know. I think Tampa might be able to beat either one of these teams next week.
  2. Yep, you know what Kelly's saying now. I knew this was it. That's why he was short about the fans. I knew it had something to do with her. She's always going to make herself the story.
  3. Which is why Frank Beckman turned down the Tigers play-by-play job when Ernie was fired. He knew the next guy would get dumped on and he'd get his chance pretty quickly.
  4. He does. I am thinking he has an outside shot at the Tennessee job. Schwartz did well here at first. He was the perfect guy/attitude to take over a team that had hit the bottom. So in that regard, he could bring that type of attitude to Carolina. To me Schwartz as a Head Coach gets you back to a level where you can dream of being good again, but not the guy that gets you over the top. I am sure he mellowed with age (and some time away from football), but if he's anywhere near as volatile (personality-wise) as he was here, then he and Tepper would not be a good mix.
  5. Yeah, it can turn around if the owner gets out of the way, but I don't think he can. And besides, I think once you Humpty Dumpty a young QB, well..........you know how Humpty Dumpty ends. (Sam Darnold, Zack Wilson are good examples - might have been good on a decent team, but that's the rub, decent teams usually don't need to draft QBs) Green Bay handles drafting QBs perfectly. Draft a decent QB with big potential when you're still an okay team and let them marinate for a couple years. I think that's what the Lions were thinking with Hendon Hooker.
  6. Hey, Wayne Fontes was an interim who got the gig and he was fairly successful here. Not great, but he did get them into the playoffs a few times. Better than most coaches that came here.
  7. I think so. Very impatient owner. Revolving Door for coaches, no draft capital this year. A young QB that may have been damaged by being thrown to the wolves (I think if Bryce Young was drafted by a better team and allowed to even sit for a year like Mahomes, then he could have been good, but I think they might have broken him). That team's a mess. Last year Wilks went 6-6 with that mess and came close to making the playoffs (weak division). They bounced him for Frank Reich, who couldn't get the Colts going just the year before. The very definition of a retread. I could understand sacking Wilks if you could get some sort of "Win the Press Conference" Head Coach. Someone that could at least inspire ticket sales, but Frank Reich? Rich Bisaccia got axed in Vegas after taking that mess of a team (coach resigned in shame, young star player killed someone), because Mark Davis wanted to make a big splash. (There is also a rumor that the Raiders thought getting Josh McDaniels meant getting Tom Brady and that's the real reason for the move). If you get an interim Head Coach who stabilizes a team in shambles, you should give them the chance to make it for real. You can't tell me that the Lions wouldn't have been better off keepin Gary Moeller than hiring Marty Morningwheg.
  8. Maybe this is Matt Patricia's' road to redemption. LOL. I feel like THAT'S the kind of guy Tepper's going to end up with. Norv Turner busy?
  9. same owner that didn't re-sign Wilks. Does he think he's getting a high-demand coach to take that job? He's getting someone desperate to be a Head Coach. Who'd work for that guy in that situation?
  10. Meanwhile Steve Wilks gets only 1 year in Arizona, with a lousy rookie QB and is booted (for the white guy you're talking about) then takes over a Carolina team who had traded their best players and he made them competitive.
  11. Michigan beat Ohio State 30-24 The Lions clinched the playoffs with a 30-34 win Michigan beat Washington 34-13 A Madden Simulation of Sundays game had the Lions beat the Bucs 34-13. Therefore I am picking the Lions to win 23-13 I know it makes no sense.
  12. There aren't enough hours in the date to hear all the great music that is easily and readily available. Anyone who says there isn't good music anymore just isn't open minded or they aren't trying to find it. It's everywhere.
  13. Haven't seen a collapse quite like the Eagles and Hurts, Individually. I'll blame the bad defense getting worse on the worst defensive coach in modern history, but the offense fell off a cliff too. Biden's fault?
  14. It is the same attempt, but Kerby needs to stop it. Just because the other guys did it doesn't mean it's cool.
  15. The Repugnantcans are about to throw another speaker out.............What a disgrace.
  16. Sometimes I think all of our griping about our bad defense makes me wonder - what are these guys supposed to do. Can't hit high, can't hit low and even when a guy goes to tackle a guy with the ball, if that guy ducks into the hit at the last second, the defensive player still gets flagged for targeting sometimes. The job of a pass defender in the NFL is getting to be an extremely difficult wire to walk on.
  17. What the hell did people expect fans to do. Come on, Stafford's a smart guy, he knew he'd get booed. Give me a break.
  18. Sport Figures I Hate Mount Rushmore Matt Patricia-Rick Pitino-Kyrie Irving-Chris Sale I would put Jackson Mahomes instead of Sale, but he's not a sports figure, he's just related to one and one of the most annoying humans in America.
  19. NO...............YOU DO EVERYTHING THE SAME WAY NEXT WEEK, WHAT ARE YOU, CRAZY?
  20. **** Dallas, the Lions are America's Team right now.
  21. Man, I hope that guy can hang on for a few more weeks, at least.
  22. I haven't even thought about the Tigers in at least 3 weeks. Have they done anything interesting recently?
  23. Plus he was unjustifiably arrogant, like most New England assistants. They all pretty much sucked and were arrogant.
  24. You know the second he walked into that locker room as Defensive Coordinator Slay probably told his teammates what a prick he is. But when Belichick goes to Dallas he'll take Matty Patty with him and Matty will ride those coattails and act like anything good was because of him. My hatred for Matt Patricia scares me a little bit. There are only a few people I hate that much (Rick Pitino, Kyrie Irving, a certain politician). The only reason he stays in football is that it saves millions of dollars in failed rocket technology, should he decide to do that for a living. I think he poked himself in the brain with that goddanged pencil.
  25. Lions have trouble with deep passes. Ain't no deep passes in the red zone. Might be as simple as that.
