I made a bunch of trades to get in the middle of the 1st round. I don't think there are many superstars in this draft, but overhauling the defense can be done with multiple picks

I thought it was called the Windy City because of their long-winded politicians.- 3,276 replies

I don't have a problem with laziness, in fact, I applaud it (when applicable), but that's his name but it looks so strange.- 3,276 replies

2022 DETROIT TIGERS REGULAR SEASON THREAD
Motor City Sonics replied to chasfh's topic in Detroit Tigers
One week in Top of the rotation has been extremely disappointing (but its early) Back of rotation were really good in their first starts. Candy & Robbie have been let downs so far Baez really is an exciting player Torkelson is starting to relax a bit, which is awesome for us. The new guys (Meadows & Baez) have been fantastic I keep referring to Austin Meadows as Auston Matthews The bullpen has been terrific. Seems like our bats always start slowly. 3-4 is a slight letdown, but as long as they stay away from 9-24 territory, things should go well It's still destined to be a .500 team this yaer.- 3,276 replies

Tiger closers, man..............
-
How close is Miggy now, 6 hits? I really want him to do that at home................
-
Where would this team be without Austin Meadows...............it's frightening to think. How's Isaac doing? Probably not this well
-
Basic fundamental mistakes man.................need to put a stop to this garbage and fast. Candy, you are not a good enough hitter to cost us runs with your glove. Better wake up.

Un Deux Trois
-
Well 3 outs on, what, 10 pitches?
-
1 pitch, 1 out........
-
Yes, he's pissed. He should be.
-
I don't always make errors, but when I do, they're costly.
-
Candy, there's a guy at Toledo that can play 3rd Base and is hitting well and practically daring the Tigers not to call him up. You need to clean this up, buddy.
-
Oh my god.............Kids In The Hall are back on May 13th.
-
someone should run out there and glue their hand to home plate as a protest. Say it's "for the children"..........

Of course the Lions pick the worst year ever for the #2 pick.

It's funny about Kayvon Thibodeaux. We know from past history some of the questions teams ask players at the combine. Do you think that maybe Kayvon had a couple interactions like this and being a pretty smart guy he just thought "to hell with this, I'll have a pro day" and walked out on it? It's funny how the NFL cartel and NFL-Friendly media seems to be bashing this guy for walking out. He didn't play along so we're gonna make him pay. It's just odd the way he's being talked about. I think the Lions should take him at #2, if they don't trade the pick. Talent wins, the other crap is just noise.

So this asshole sets of a smoke bomb or tear gas and then in the confusion starts firing (and the rumor of unexploded deivces). That's pretty textbook terrorism. Even if it's just one person, its terrorism. I agree, it depends on what they look like. I think anytime someone tries to kill a bunch of people they don't know it's terrorism. I think everyone that was shot is still alive, right? That's some great news. Find this bastard and fry him.

I am a fan of indie movies and the kind of movies that don't make a ton of money and don't play at AMC or Emagine. The Main Art in Royal Oak, basic as it was, was the best filmhouse this side of Ann Arbor. It closed. Landlord just kicked 'em out one day and I guess the people who ran the place weren't really given any notice. That's always a class move. If cowardly is class. Developers want to demolish it and make it...............wait for it............"a multi-use facility". You know, stores and apartments that no actual regular working person can really afford. Great, we needed more of those. But the biggest insult of all is they want to keep the marquee. Fuckin' tone deaf, man. I guess there's till the Maple Art........for now. With all this luxury shit going up and house prices going through the roof, what the hell is going to happen to most people? There has to be and end point to all this, right? They are being priced right out of a decent life. Detroit went from a bombed-out slum to a bunch of hoity-toity places where every price is jacked up (the fraud and utter bullshit that is Shinola). Working people haven't really had a chance to experience the new Detroit, and the next time the economy crashes, the rich will flee again and it will go right back to what it was. Championing $15 an hour is fashionable. $15 would have meant something seven or eight years ago when people were asking for it. The way things are going, that would be closer to $20 to $25 an hour now. A lot of people rip on millennials, but they really are getting fucked.

I don't think you could be Stage Gilbert all day, he would have never made 67/

the former trainer of the St. Louis Cardinals, Barry Weinberg, frequented my friend's family bar whenever the A's or Cardinals were in town. He got us tickets to Game 2 of the 2006 World Series. One year he was telling us about Yogi Berra hanging out at Cardinals camp in Spring Training and Yogi told him that he was going to LA to shoot some commercial for Affliction, you know the commercial with that duck...........Barry figured out it was for Aflac. Yogi comes back a few days later and Barry asks "How'd the commercial shoot go". Yogi says "Ah, it was easy, Only had to work for a couple of hours...........you know they got three of dem ducks..........but none of 'em really talk" Every time I heard Gilbert's voice I thought of that story.
