A couple times a season they'd drop one.
"My name is ASAC Shrader and you can go f*** yourself"
Jesse said it to the Nazi's when he tried to escape......
On the TV show Fargo there were several F-bombs in the season with Ewen McGregor.
Hey, it's not a show for kids. With all the violence on that show if a parent is letting their kids watch, then an f-bomb is really tame actually - and besides, kid over the age of 11 or 12 are saying that to each other anyway.
I think he's done in the NBA after this. Maybe he ends up on a team that's mediocre and has no pressure to succeed, but he simply doesn't want it and if I owned a team, I would stay away from him. No other player is every going to respect him. He should just go back to Australia and get away from all of this. Hopefully he still has most of his money, but if he doesn't, he's not only soft, he's an idiot.
He had ex-Bear Steve McMichael thrown out of Wrigley over a joke. "I'll speak with that home plate umpire after the game" just before he sang in the 7th inning stretch. He's a loser and he is seemingly there for life. I don't understand it.
I don't have the energy (I'm old) to look it up, but has MLB ever fired an umpire for being terrible. I know some have been canned for behavioral issues off the field, but how about for being bad.
What about Rickey Henderson, the way he would crouch down.........and of course, Rickey has the most walks in MLB history, right? (if you eliminate all the times Barry Bonds was intentionally walked (688)
With a robot ump, would players have to pose with their stance for measurements or will it be based on their reported height. You can't have an equal vertical strike zone for players who are 6'5" and 5'10". The plate width is not debatable.
I have a theory on why Angel Hernandez still even has a job. He sued because he wasn't getting postseason assignments (those typically go to the highest-rated umpires according to players, and Angel was usually the lowest or in the bottom 2 with C.B. Bucknor). He sued based on a claim that he wasn't getting the gigs because he's Cuban. You know, I know and even Angel knows that's ridiculous, but I think Angel may have felt he was about to be forced out and now he filed the lawsuit (even though it got thrown out) it would look like a punitive firing by MLB, therefore they keep him.
I love how they finally gave him a postseason gig and in one game he was overturned on 3 out of 4 challenges.
Why does it seem like umpires are like Supreme Court Justices and they are there for life? I love these stats on Umps now........does MLB measure stats - and if they do, can they FINALLY get rid of this bastard? He's not old enough to force into retirement yet, but something has to be done. This guy's a clown.
Today has a huge potential to get ugly in New York. So the announcement needs to be made and MLB needs to make sure the fans know that if one thing, just one thing, gets thrown on the field today, it's a forfeit.
It's rare, but there have been 7, 8 run comebacks..........sometimes even more.
Remember Brian Dozier whining that an Oriole player bunted to get on base when the Twins were up 7-0? This was not a no-hitter, it was just a shutout. Hated him ever since that.
tomorrow my lineup might look like....
Grossman, rf
Torkelson, 1b
Baez, ss
Meadows, lf
Schoop, 2b
Haase, dh
HCastro, 3b
Barnhart, c
Baddoo, cf
Miggy finally gets a day off. Candy needs a day off. Torkelson deserves a key slot
I give AJ Hinch a lot of credit here. You know he'd like to rest Miggy in this 2nd game but since these were the Friday night tickets, he's giving them a chance to cheer him. As much as he's a baseball-first guy, I think he did this for the fans.
Miggy gets the next 2 days off anyway.
