  1. Well, I think the Rooney Rule is making a huge difference. And I really thought Juan Samuel and Bruce Fields had a GREAT shot of getting the job that went to Jim Leyland.
  2. After Sean Payton getting suspended and Gregg Williams getting fired for bounties that are as old as the game itself, I can see Saints ownership hiring Flores in a sort of spiteful way, not fair to Flores, but he gets a gig.
  3. It's a tough line to walk because you don't want to force teams to hire someone they don't want to hire, but the players are 70% Black and it's been about that percentage for a very long time and most coaches were once players so it seems like there would be more Black head coaches, but only Mike Tomlin remains (sorry, not counting Saleh as a minority at all - Middle Eastern is technically considered White). David Culley gets bounced after a year where he won 4 games with a team most people thought would win 2 or 3. Wasn't his fault the roster sucked. Did they hire him to get an extra draft pick in the first place? Brian Flores turns Miami into a playoff bubble team after years of irrelevance and gets bounced because he and the QB, who hasn't been all that impressive, didn't get along? Steve Wilkes was a one-and-done. It's just wrong. I know a couple of Black GMs got hired but GMs aren't very visible.
  4. Okay, he needs to make a decision soon because Michigan needs to move forward with him or without him. Dragging this out puts the next coach in a tough spot (if there is a next coach). Plus the fact that the school has an Interim President doesn't make this any easier. With no permanent President in place, does that mean bringing in an outsider is impossible? I know the #1 name is Matt Campbell, but Bill O'Brien could be on their list too, maybe Matt Rhule.
  5. It depends how how much the artists band together. Neil and Joni can call their shot. Some indie band trying to build a fanbase can't make that call. they can complain but their record label will want the exposure. It's truly about the royalties. Neil and Joni don't need them anymore, a band like Lunar Vacation or Big Thief need more ears to hear them so they can sell some tickets to a live show.
  6. Neil's been battling Spotify for years.............Neil has been battling mp3s in general for years. Most people don't have musician's ears and don't care, they just want something to sing or dance along to.
  7. So Neil Young started it and Joni Mitchell followed. Wanting off Spotify because of the stupidity and dangerous conspiracy theories of Joe Rogan (even his friend Bill Burr called him out on it - on his show). Expect the floodgates to open now. I expect hundreds of artists to get their music pulled from Spotify and they will use Joe Rogan as the excuse, but lets be honest - artists have been battling Spotify for years because of their ridiculous royalty structure and now they have an excuse to cut ties. I use Spotify all the time because I do 2 music-oriented radio shows and it's a great way to find new music, but I know how bad it is for artists. The day after the Breaking Bad finale the song "Baby Blue" by Badfinger had something like half a million streams on Spotify. On the air I joked about how the estate of Pete Ham made $38, but I might not have been very far off. I didn't know, at the time, that Pete Ham had killed himself over his music being stolen from him (it was a big reason why). I would not have made that comment if I knew that was the reason. Spotify is going to have to make a decision this week, and I am guessing that they have to weigh the traffic from Joe Rogan's podcast against all the music they are about to lose, but it might be too late, the artist have been looking to revolt and as much as I use Spotify, I don't blame them. Don't take medical advice from a fucking comedian, who once believed the moon landing was fake, then didn't believe it, but the way he's going these days, he probably believes it again. And fuck Aaron Rodgers too.
  8. From what I recall, the coordinators were a revolving door and they never could gain momentum. Up then Down then Up then Down then Abandon Ship WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP.
  9. All season I was saying Cincinnati was a decent team, but I mean they could go 8-9 or 9-8 because that was a very hard division. I had no idea they were this good. Every Year a team goes worst-to-first. Who makes the leap next year (Can't answer that until after the draft) Here are your teams.......... My ranking of teams that could go worst to first, as of now is....... 1. Baltimore Ravens - only 2 games separated first and worst this year 2. Carolina Panthers - if Brady is gone....the Saints have to gut the payroll and Atlanta was more lucky than good this year 3. Denver Broncos - Well, not a bad team, but a tough division. If Rodgers is brought on, they'd probably jump to 2 4. Seattle Seahawks - Until we know the QB situation its very hard to say. 5. NY Giants - They have a big mess to clean up first 6. Detroit Lions - No Rodgers in the division would be nice, but they are rebuilding right and that takes longer 7. NY Jets - They really did improve in a lot of areas, but once again their young QB has to survive. 8. Jacksonville - Yeah, a new coach could cleanse them but I don't have faith they can jump Tennessee and Indy, who should both be really good next year.
  10. Look, Jacksonville really was one play away from the Super Bowl just 4 short years ago and they had a ton of talent and should have gone onto more really good seasons, but they fell so far, so fast. Like the 1991 Lions, I guess. It wasn't a lucky season, that was a good team that finally put it all together. If they had a better QB...............
  11. Didn't watch the second game because i was driving but just saw the clinching play. Jimmy G sucks. How is a veteran QB doing something that stupid? Perfect fit for the Washington Football Team next year.
  12. I haven't had the volume on the whole time but 20 minutes into the pregame on CBS and they haven't talked about Brady.
  13. And McDaniels will coach Las Vegas - another white guy. Wow. The Rooney Rule really is just for show, isn't it? And the Patriots "de facto" GM. Let us all clarify this for the stupid. The guy who gets Bill's coffee and cleans out his email inbox....... Will the world never learn? Did the Texans hire David Culley to get the extra draft pick? What's left Jacksonville New Orleans Minnesota Am I missing any?
  14. Harbaugh interviewing with the Vikings (To me it feels like a ploy to get a little more money out of Michigan). I just can't see him being the Minnesota guy. I could see Vegas. I could still see Miami, despite what the owner says right now.
  15. He's retiring from the Subway commercials. Oops.
  16. Scenario Lions finish 7-10 in 2022. 8th pick in the 2023 draft. Jared Goff is bought out. Lions trade the #8 pick and the #20 pick (Rams) and their 2nd round picks in 2024 and 2025 to the Jaguars for their #2 pick. After the Texans take Bryce Young at #1 the Lions take C.J. Stroud at #2 But C.J. might not be ready from the jump Wonder if there is a veteran QB itching to play again that might have Michigan ties and might want to pull the ultimate trick in NFL history - getting the Lions to a Super Bowl............
  17. By the way.............3 new coaches..............3 White guys.............and 2 strong rumors of 2 more white guys in Houston and Las Vegas. Minnesota, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Miami still on the clock - and possibly Tampa Bay? I could see Bruce hanging up his headphones now.
  18. Wow, Tampa Bay's Odds for the 2023 Super Bowl probably just went from something like 8-1 to 50-1. Hey Buccaneers. You have a lot of good players at the end of their prime years.........not ready to cash it in just yet and you're not really in a position to rebuild just yet. Kyle Trask? Blane Gabbert? Hmmmm. You need a veteran QB. Well, we have a veteran QB who got to the Super Bowl 3 years ago.............that #27 draft pick and a #2 in 2023 next year sure would look good in Honolulu Blue.
  19. I think Brady will sit one year and then come back. I really do.
  20. Snyder is the worst owner. His team has failed for years. His stadium is falling apart (raw sewage dumping on fans). Oh, and he's a pig. The Fords may be inept but they seem to be solid citizens.
  21. The Jags owner is clueless and will find a way to screw up everything that seems good right now. Do you realize they were one play away from being in the Super Bowl just 4 years ago? That's what they do there.
  22. They played their asses off tonight. A very well-earned 2 points. This team has a bright future.
  23. GREAT WIN FOR THE WINGS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Coming off of that debacle vs. Chicago, this was an impressive point earned tonight. Let's make it two !
  25. Is that Manon Rheuame?
