I kind of like that Murkowski striking this deal means she believes that Alaska will be a high poverty state in perpetuity. Maybe Alaska should elect someone who will take the state out of perpetual poverty.

It would get them one step closer to control of the senate and appointing committee chairs, but Murkowski would be another Manchin and stymie Dems more progressive agenda which will catch the ire of progressives. Speaking of Manchin, he would be a no on this vote. Don't realize what you had until it's gone.

It's not just special elections, it has been the Midterms in 2018 and 2022. When Republicans were the out party, they didn't give their base any reason to support them other than they weren't the Democrats.
